not gonna lie, readjusting to school after a leave of absence is very uncute - especially when that readjustment is to restarting second year.

@missnovemburr I can only speak for me, but it would be easier to focus on my personal wellbeing, actually enjoy life, and be academically comfortable if I didn't have to try to find side hustles to get by. It gets frustrating. Everybody's race is different. Mine just has some extra hurdles. ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ
Being a professional student with no real financial support outside of student loans is incredibly frustrating.
Today, this frustration has me in real life tears.
Medicine is not built for single people who weren't in a particular tax bracket before starting medical school.
@missnovemburr That may be true, but it won't be reality for another 10 years or so. Knowing that doesn't change the fact that the process of actually getting there has an additional set of obstacles for those who don't have already have a certain degree of financial privilege.
There was truly no purpose to this rant and there is much more that can be said, but I'm just gonna go.
I need to go home and regroup so I can actually get in the headspace to study for this exam Friday.

Per policy at my institution, students aren't permitted to be employed. That $24k refund is it.
Trying to fully support my mind, body, & soul on less than $2k/month makes it extremely difficult to ever feel comfortable - making it that much more difficult to focus on my studies.

my goal is to really turn my med school journey around when my leave is up. there are days where I feel at peace with my decision, but I'm 2 months in and there are still times I feel like a failure.
