@mparlion @dublin_damo Very true. When you live in new places you get a different perspective than those who live in their own comfort zone. It is certainly easier when kids are in school & events are centered around family. I believe you just need to keep attending events to find like minded people.

@mparlion @dublin_damo I’m Irish living & working in the North of Italy 3 yrs, 0 Italian friends, only few Irish & English friends. Seems to be not just an Irish issue. Lived in Dubai 8 yrs, friends mix very diverse, lots more social activities that families attended each month to build friendships.
