I'm a PhD student at the U of Saskatchewan and am working with 21st Street Brewery to investigate yeast genetics and the tasty flavours and aromas yeast produce
What many of you don't know, is that my other passion is viking living history.
Here is my brewing set up at the Gimli Icelandic Festival Viking Village. We brewed beer and spent hours repeating our description for 12k who came through the village. It was a spectacular time!
21st Street Brewery is launching our Hildegard Maibock! A beer brewed by women for International Women’s Day as part of the Pink Boots Collaborative Brew.
$1 for each charity per pint sold will be donated to Sanctum 1.5 and Pink Boots Society.

@britishbeergirl@FyneFest Gastrolyte (adult version of Pedialyte, rehydration powder) is a life saver for hangovers, especially when camping and not being able to sleep it off in your own bed.
@arrih6 @PhD_Genie@PhDVoice@PostPhDRoad@thephdstory My highschool physics teacher looked and had the personality of Bill Nye. He taught us Snell's Law to the theme of Star Wars. N one, sin theta one is equal to n two, sin theta two!
I sewed myself a brewery apron! Because a) not all my outfits have pockets; b) I always need something to dry my hands on; and c) I spray myself with water entirely too often.

I can't believe it's been a year! A year since I was asked if I wanted to do a PhD. My first answer was "absolutely not". When I was told it's the beer project; "Well shit." And I said "Yes" to the PhD! Been a great year with @ChrisEskiw and Casey @21stbrews.

Got great advice from my brewery supervisor this morning; when things get tough, you don't rise to your aspirations, you fall to your systems. So have good systems in place before things get tough.
What systems get y'all through tough patches?
