This three-minute video illustrates several things relevant to the drone flap.

First, after 2 seconds, we see an orb of light appear behind the tree. At first, it seems to be hardly moving. It can't be a plane, right? Too low. Too slow. No navigation lights. Right?

The orb continues to rise for two minutes, speeding up until finally, at 2:45, the plane (recently departed from Sacramento) switches off its (very bright) landing lights, and we see it for what it is.

Except, if you think maybe it's a drone, you can trick your mind into thinking it's just a tiny drone hovering over the tree.

But no, it's a plane. Always has been.

The FAA-approved AirHub Portal app indicates that the approved altitude for drone operations directly over KCDW is 0 ft and within a 1.5 mile radius of the field. On 12/6 and 12/7, unidentified aircraft/drones flew precisely in this 0 ft restricted airspace. The FAA would know if a Part 107 waiver was given to operate in the Class D airspace of KCDW over the airport.
