EXCELLENT NEWS: The Japanese Sake Bible will be on exhibit for four months at the Alfred Nobel House, Sweden. Pictured holding the book is Pelle Agorelius, curator of an exhibition of gastronomy books from 50 countries at Alfred Nobel Bjรถrkborn in Karlskoga, Sweden. ๐ถ๐ธ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐๐๐
One last look inside Tippett Studio. The legendary f/x house is closing, and its models, props & precious artifacts are being sold off.
I spent a day inside the workshop, surrounded by Star Wars, RoboCop, Jurassic Park, and decades of handmade movie magic.

@brown83589@shegone03 Iโve never hit high level pitching and I donโt pretend to have but I obsessively read The Art of Hitting .300 and The Science of Hitting as a kid and my unsolicited advice for young players would be to read those and get good off the tee but thatโs not much of a business model!
@camcavers@Noahpinion Iโm interested in @Noahpinion โs sources for this. Certainly donโt think it was shunned. Like Japan has done for centuries, it was absorbed and blended with other schools of thought. Itโs how Japan rolls.
@Noahpinion Even though it exists. This is also why we think tattooing existed in Japan before the arrival of Chinese influence and then after that arrival why tattoos became a punitive way to mark criminals in Japan.
@Noahpinion Itโs certainly a Confucian-influenced society; this is why tattoos have historically been looked down upon because of the Confucian notion that your body is a gift from your parents. People in Japan still echo this but most donโt draw a direct connection with Confucian thought
@Ob1JohnKenob1 He was kind of hard to get at the stadium as a Ranger. I never saw him sign. He did sign at spring training and at banquets. Donโt remember him ever doing a show either!
For a guy who cares about tangible things and seems to hark from a different age, tech-wise at least, Christopher Nolan has a pretty shitty signature! Compare his with other directorsโฆ
Nolan isnโt alone. Tarantinoโs autograph is a mess; Michael Mannโs is โMMโ, but some directors really cared about their handwriting (Friedkin, for example).
This really doesnโt matter! We watch their films, not their letter writing. Still, seems like something is lostโฆ
