@YeahImaBoss413@bydylanjohnson Move up to where? What conference? Villanova stadium isn’t FBS ready, and renting the MLS field was shot down by the old Big East (and probably too expensive for a low-G6 league). Also, no chance they would bundle all sports to get a better G6 league invite.
@richardriss@bydylanjohnson When he came back for that Delaware game at the end of the season after being injured early, he had every intention of winning out that season.
@bydylanjohnson Which is why the Patriot League move was probably the best move for Villanova. But these other schools don’t have a basketball brand to protect, or any problem with venues for football. So CUSA here they come…
@bydylanjohnson Villanova could move up too, but there are some logistical issues, and it probably wouldn’t be worth the investment in renting a stadium to play CUSA football (and barring a P4 invite, a total non-starter to move in all sports).
@bydylanjohnson I am a little offended that the Brunson doesn’t have a scoop of protein powder in it. Maybe make one that comes with two scoops of protein and name it after Coach Shack…?
NEWS: An Ohio judge has ruled that the NCAA is barred from enforcing its eligibility rules against McQuaide or punishing Villanova University, making McQuaide immediately eligible to play Division I football for Villanova in the 2026–2027 season.
Good numbers here from @TheAthletic on estimated NIL numbers per team in the top conferences
The SEC leads at $18M per school with the Big East 2nd at $14.5M
@EasyPeasy_3@kcisc I don’t think I disagree, but you won’t develop some youths when they’re just getting pummeled by bigger guys. Physical traits do matter, but there will always be a Messi out there who find ways to overcome.
@EasyPeasy_3@kcisc When I started playing as a kid, I was getting meaningful playing time from the start in games. I got better. More focus on skills and maybe I’d have been pretty good, but I’m not a giant.
@EasyPeasy_3@kcisc Some kids don’t get big. I lost interest when my coach wanted me to play center midfield when I was half the size of the bigger guys on the field — I wasn’t nearly skilled enough to compete in traffic with those guys.
UConn, St. John's, and Villanova should all begin next season ranked in the Top 25.
The Big East needs to at least double its NCAA Tournament representation from last year --- from 3 to 6 --- moving forward in a 76-team bracket if it wants to keep pace with the rest of the P4.
NEWS: Luigi Suigo has withdrawn from the NBA Draft and committed to Villanova, Sigma Sports and Excel Sports tell DraftExpress.
The 7'4, 289-pound 19-year-old will be a physical outlier in the Big East who can pass, space the floor, protect the rim, and finish effectively.
Given the Suigo deadline, I would say Villanova picking up Samb less than 24 hours from the decision is probably not the best sign that Suigo will withdraw from the NBA Draft.
We’ll see if there’s more to come for Kevin Willard and @NovaMBB.
