Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and teens in the U.S.
Join me in demanding that senators #DontLookAway from this crisis: Text BOLD to 644-33 to call your senators and tell them to take bold action on gun safety. @Everytown
As an @Everytown supporter, I #WearOrange on National Gun Violence Awareness Day to honor survivors & bring attention to this crisis, but attention isn’t enough, we need action.
Text BOLD to 644-33 to tell your senators to do their job and ACT NOW on gun safety.
We need to:
Ban assault weapons — and if we can’t, then we should raise the age to purchase them from 18 to 21.
Ban high-capacity magazines.
Strengthen background checks.
Enact safe storage laws and red flag laws.
Repeal gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability.
SOLUTIONS TO STOP GUN VIOLENCE:
—Universal background checks
—Safe storage
—Violence intervention
—Disarm domestic abusers & hate crime perpetrators
—Extreme risk laws
—Confirm an ATF Director
—Regulate assault weapons & large capacity mags
—Raise minimum age to 21 to buy a gun
I need everyone to tag @POTUS with this post the he has done more than any other before him to act on gun violence but he still can do more. The next shooter is already planning his attack we need action not debate.
I am fine if you don’t agree with me. I respect that you have a different opinion. What I can’t accept is inaction when we all know the next shooter is planning his attack.
We know what we don’t agree on let’s find what we can and ACT NOW.
One of these products was discontinued after causing 30 deaths in America over an entire decade. The other product causes hundreds of deaths every year in America and is sold to teens.
Gun violence — not just mass shootings — left at least 156 people dead and 412 wounded between 5 p.m. ET Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday. https://t.co/4i7eOQ1X7C
My hometown is on this list. I reached out to the City Council the day after our mass shooting to discuss #gunsafety but not one council member or the mayor could be bothered to respond. #anniston@annistonalgov@AnnistonStar@WBRCnews
When the trained good guys with guns aren't brave enough to face a bad guy with an AR-15 like they weren’t in Texas or Parkland the problem is the damn AR-15. There were over a dozen good guys in Texas with guns NONE of them did anything. We need action on gun safety not debate.
The next shooter is planning his attack right now- likely obtaining his guns legally. Like the 18-y/os who recently committed these acts. These aren’t people who are criminal masterminds who have black market connections. They’re barely adults. We need to stop debating and act.
