Can't believe I had the chance to cover that run in 2007. That team and that run is still one of the most memorable things I've covered in my career. Such an amazing ride!

In September 2007, the Rockies were buried in the standings with two weeks to go.

We won 13 of our last 14 regular season games.

Forced a Game 163. Won it on a play at the plate in extra innings that people still argue about.

Then swept the Phillies in the NLDS. Swept the Diamondbacks in the NLCS. Went to the World Series.

By the time we got there, we'd won 21 of our last 22 games.

Nobody in Colorado would have written that story before the season started. Me included.

But there were fingerprints all over it...ownership, the front office, the players, the coaches. Nobody cared who got the credit.

We just kept not going away.

Man can't write what sport can create.
