The worrying thing about Uganda's economic approach is incoherence. In the morning, we want to be private-sector led. Afternoon, to be publicly controlled. Evening, we want hybrid. On Monday, we want to be agricultural, Tuesday mining & weekend industrial. No strategic focus fwaa
MONETARY POLICY STATEMENT | October 2026
The Bank of Uganda has raised the Central Bank Rate (CBR) from 9.75% to 12.0% after a special Monetary Policy Committee meeting on 14 October 2026.
The decision aims to contain rising inflation risks driven by higher fuel prices and exchange rate pressures, while safeguarding price stability.
The Bank also raised the Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) from 11.0% to 13.5%, effective 24 September 2026, to manage excess liquidity in the banking system and strengthen monetary policy effectiveness.

Following acts of murder of innocent people in Kazo & Ibanda at night by unknown criminals gangs in a scripted pattern, @PoliceUg must carry out special operations without delay.
I headed such operations in the greater Kibale district following the so called “abafuruki” murders following local government elections in 2006, Kyanamukaka murders in Masaka in 2008, & other bijjambiya murders in Buddu.
The police operations must be intelligence-led, community policing focused and crime investigations intentional.
One week is enough to arrest all these washenzi & permanently establish an operational system based on mobilization, sensitization & education of people.
Police counter numbers must be shared with the residents. Motorcycle squads of about 4 must be ready to react to incidents at all police stations, & a motorized patrol system put in place.
The fear of crime in the minds of people must be conquered so that people can resume their normal way of life.
I come in peace.
Comrades, I know a lot of us have seen these "new" signs especially on the bypass and are confused about what they mean... They signify the distance you have left to the exit.. 3 lines = 300 meters, 2 lines = 200m and 1 line = 100m. They reduce as you proceed. Thanks & regards.

That was for you Amooti 🤍
Words can’t express the loss to our family and Kingdom. I know how much you loved sport, so I honoured you in the only way I know, by giving everything I had.
I carried you with me out there. I hope I made you proud. God continues to give us strength.
I saw a video of a guy in the UAE, I think, who got to Dubai Airport and discovered that his passport had expired.
He went to the passport section and got another one in 8 minutes.
If it’s true, I want that level of efficiency for us.
