@ReevesBatverse Some of these are good, none of them are great. Word of mouth on the quality of certain films carry way more weight than a plea to watch them for their own financial sake. There hasn’t been a solid rollout of truly great films since the mid 2000s.
@TakeOffThomas@BSaarX @hoppymcfboi24 Factoring production and marketing costs, all of those movies lost money or were financial disappointments for Disney. the Marvels didn’t break even and CA: Brave New World has made less than the original CA movie did without adjusting for inflation.
@hoppymcfboi24 In the first season of Netflix’s Daredevil we have a duo of corrupt cops killing an unarmed man in an interrogation room prefacing the murder by saying “it’s your turn”. Did you even watch the original show or are you just happy that the new show criticized people you don’t like?
@LegoKingo Punch-Drunk Love is Adam Sandler’s best and most vulnerable performance. I think it plays up to his capricious style of humor, but he absolutely puts himself out there with how awkward and short tempered Barry is. Brilliant movie
I’m sure Lynch will be remembered for his ability to uniquely capture the ethereal and surreality within our minds, but it should also be noted that he was an expert in writing sincerity. So much of his work is radiating with humanity and positivity
@imPatrickT@Corona40ozz “Objectively false”
Gets shown example of muted lighting in the trailer
“Doesn’t look that way to me”

@metaplexmovies Insane to say this when Prisoners, Incendies, and Sicario exist. Bladerunner 2049 isn’t even Villeneuve’s fifth best film let alone his first.
@TenCentBeers Incredible cope on display right here. This show was terrible from start to finish and it had nothing to do with people criticizing it with bad faith interpretations. HOTD and Andor were favorably viewed because ROP was a complete disaster in comparison, not the other way around
If Borat just made a imaginary country like the kingdom of Genovia or something it would be more tolerable. But since it picked Kazakhstan and claimed it was a random eastern European country (?) where there's a "running of the jew" and women are slaves, was straight up racist.
@bornposting It’s very funny to me that even back in the early 2000s they thought “we need a wisecracking, Baltimore born, street detective who has an Irish heritage” and they picked the most prim and proper Englisman they could find
