Derek Sivers said it right:
“Mastery is the best goal because the rich can’t buy it, the impatient can’t rush it, the privileged can’t inherit it, and nobody can steal it. You can only earn it through hard work. Mastery is the ultimate status.”
You don’t need to avoid discomfort. You need to embrace it.
Growth lives in the things you’d rather not do.
The hard workout, the learning, the discipline.
Lean into it instead of running from it.
One of the most powerful leadership tools a leader has in their disposal?
Listening.
Listen to your team. To your boss. To your employees. To yourself.
Your culture is not the highest standard you preach, it is the lowest standard you allow.
Preach the standard, live the standard, hold others accountable to the standard.
Gratitude and appreciation are essential for a healthy work environment. In fact, the number one reason why people leave their jobs is because they don't feel appreciated. A simple thank you and a show of appreciation can make all the difference.
Don’t do good things for attention.
Don’t do good things for credit.
Don’t do good things for praise.
Do good things to do good things, to make an impact, to serve others.
Humility is the way.
