And so the movement begins. 🇬🇧
PAG UK National account is here.
Supporting survivors. Protecting children. Empowering families.
A space for safeguarding awareness, survivor support, family resources, education, campaigns and community action.
This is just the beginning...
Unpaid carers are holding this country together. The numbers make the official story look like a joke.
The Census found 5.8 million unpaid carers in the UK. Recent polling puts it closer to 11 million. One in five adults. One in five workers.
How many actually get Carer’s Allowance?
About 1.13 million are paid it.
Around 1.55 million have entitlement.
Hundreds of thousands of those get £0 because of “overlapping benefits.”
If you are over State Pension age, that is usually you. Still doing the nights, the meds, the lifting, the appointments. Often paid nothing, because the State Pension “counts against it.” You should still claim — “underlying entitlement” can unlock extra Pension Credit — but it does not give you £86.45 on top of a normal State Pension.
The rate, if you even qualify:
£86.45 a week.
Now value the work.
I’m basing this on £13 an hour. That is a LOW figure. Nights, agency and complex care cost more. At £13 × 24 hours × 7 days that is still £2,184 a week.
£2,184 versus £86.45.
And the real market rate could be much higher.
You only get that £86.45 if you do 35+ hours a week, the person you care for is on a qualifying disability benefit, and your own earnings stay under the cap. Miss the cap and the whole week can vanish. Hit pension age and the payment can vanish anyway.
So next time the government starts throwing out lines about disabled people and carers, look at the arithmetic.
Millions providing the care.
A fraction getting the benefit.
Pensioner carers often paid nothing.
£86.45 a week against a 24/7 cost of £2,184+.
They are not a drain. They are the system.
IT DIDN’T START WITH BLAIR
The Conservatives redrew the rules in 1990. Britain signed Dublin that June. New Labour said it would continue the policy — then built the 1999 system on top of it.
This website will be an amazing resource and it’s a well needed one for survivors and anyone who may need to access the PAGUK website. If you haven’t heard of Pag uk it’s ParentsAgainstGrooming UK @BillyPag2023 and his team are amazing supporting survivors anyway they need.
It is finally here! The new PAG UK website is live.
Between working full time, raising my family, and tackling my own projects, learning how to build a website from scratch was such a MASSIVE learning curve. But after so much effort, it is officially complete.
It may not have all the bells and whistles, but it will always be a completely free asset created with love 💕
I really hope that it becomes a genuinely helpful resource for survivors and parents. If it makes a meaningful difference for even one person, every single hour was worth it.

@TiceRichard If the government actually stopped the boats there would be no need for this. You don’t get to stoke this fire for years then clutch pearls the second anyone does more than tweet about it. Masks exist because the two-tier system would ruin them otherwise. You know it.
@orlaminihane@pinkladies_uk So have you only reposted this due to being asked as a guest speaker? For months you ignored any repost requests for PAG UK (parents against grooming U.K.) even ignored some survivor who asked you. Got it 👍
@orlaminihane@RestoreBritain@pinkladies_uk Don’t worry at least now you can
Carry on with your everyday significant wef supporting employer now with no guilt every cloud .
@orlaminihane@RestoreBritain@pinkladies_uk Probably best, facts not checked, defending a woman who murdered her children wasn’t really the best move for a spokeswoman for safety of women and girls, never keeping promises of reposting other orgs who help survivors, ignoring survivors when they’ve asked you.
Hewitt, former Labour Health Secretary,
Hewitt has held ongoing advisory positions, including on NHS administration under Conservatives in 2022 and to the Board of Trade since 2020, and received a Damehood in 2025 for healthcare transformation services. so got a damehood for ruining the NHS 'bout right
@LindseyMak13@donnablagblag@DisRightsUK Pip is awarded based on HOW your disability affects you not on a label or diagnosis. Pip has the lowest fraud rate of any of benefits. Also a disabled person can work and claim pip as it’s NOT an in or out of work benefit. So yes people are using disabled ppl as scapegoats.
@LindseyMak13@donnablagblag@DisRightsUK &you didn’t know Holly Holly’s did you. It’s not an opinion it’s fact every single one of us is 1 incident away from being disabled so yes ppl should care, they should also care about what’s in the details of the assisted suicide bill. Ppl only seem to care when it’s too late.
@LindseyMak13@donnablagblag@DisRightsUK You don’t care remember! Shame on you more like. Holly jolly is a carer for her disabled child. Put that in the universe? But they’d be looked after if it did ever happen. The point she was making was it can happen to anyone at anytime so you should CARE!
