🥈 A Proud Moment for Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC 🇮🇳⚓

The Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate has emerged as the Overall Runners-Up at the prestigious All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026, the premier national camp of naval NCC, held at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, Maharashtra.

The Directorate excelled in Firing, Seamanship, Ship Modelling, and the Service Subject Examination, winning an impressive 21 medals (3 Gold, 9 Silver & 9 Bronze)—a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and perseverance of the cadets and training staff.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through intensive training conducted under the aegis of Ernakulam Group NCC, with the active participation of all naval NCC Units across Kerala. The contingent also received constant encouragement and guidance from Maj Gen Arun C. G., ADG, Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate, who personally interacted with the cadets during the Inter-Group Competitions.

The Directorate expresses its sincere gratitude to VAdm Sameer Saxena, #FOCINC (South) #SNC,, for providing world-class training facilities and unwavering support that significantly contributed to this success.

The medal-winning contingent of the Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC Directorate, which emerged as the Overall Runners-Up at the prestigious All India Nau Sainik Camp (#AINSC) 2026, was felicitated today at Southern Naval Command, Kochi, by Maj Gen Arun C. G., SM, VSM, ADG, Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate.

Congratulating the cadets on their outstanding achievement, the ADG commended their dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence. He also appreciated the relentless efforts of the Officers, ANOs, PI Staff, and training teams whose guidance and meticulous preparation made this remarkable national success possible.

The felicitation celebrated not only the Directorate's impressive haul of 21 medals but also its spirit of teamwork, professionalism, and determination. Building on this success, the Directorate now looks ahead with renewed confidence and determination towards emerging as the Overall Best NCC Directorate in the country.

Gp Cdr’s Visit to 24 Kerala Battalion NCCz 🇮🇳

Following his visit to 23 Kerala Bn, Cmde Jose Vikas, Group Commander, Ernakulam Group, visited 24 Kerala Battalion NCC.
He inspected the Quartermaster Store and appreciated the excellent layout, upkeep, and proper accounting of stores. Various boards and training displays within the unit were also commended.

While appreciating the overall functioning, the Gp Cdr advised a facelift of certain offices and recommended installation of CCTV cameras around the premises to enhance security in view of the prevailing conditions.

He later visited the PI Staff accommodation, where he shared a Bara Khana with the civilian staff and combatants of the battalion.

The living accommodation was inspected and found well maintained, with a few suggestions given for further improvement to be implemented at the earliest.

Group Commander’s Visit to 23 Kerala Battalion NCC 🇮🇳

Cmde Jose Vikas, Group Commander, Ernakulam Group, visited 23 Kerala Battalion NCC on 12 Mar 2026 as part of a routine inspection.
He reviewed a smart Guard of Honour presented by the cadets and interacted with cadets who excelled in various training activities during the year.

The Gp Cdr also witnessed Small Arms Training at the Group Firing Simulator Room, appreciating the technological infusion in training.
He later interacted with PI Staff and office staff, urging all to work unitedly for quality training, cadet welfare, and upholding the proud ethos of NCC.

*Proud moment for Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC Directorate* 🇮🇳 @NCC_KER_LAK_DTE

After successfully completing the Basic White Water Rafting (WWR) Course (09–18 Feb 2026) at NIMAS @DirangNimas, Bhalukpong, Arunachal Pradesh, all six cadets from Kerala qualified to advance to the Inter–WWR Course, conducted from 21 February to 03 March 2026.

During the Inter Camp, cadets trained in more challenging conditions and navigated thrilling Class III rapids, displaying remarkable courage, teamwork, endurance and the true spirit of adventure training. Adding to the memorable experience, the cadets also celebrated the festival of Holi at NIMAS, making the camp both adventurous and festive.

We are proud to share that all six cadets successfully qualified the Inter–WWR Course.

After completing the camp, the cadets reached Guwahati, stayed overnight at the Transit Camp, and boarded the train back to Kerala, escorted by a Lady ANO and PI Staff from 24 Kerala Battalion.

Day 9 at SNIC Kavaratti continued with water sports activities for SW cadets, building confidence and adventure skills. SD cadets visited the Lighthouse and Pawan Hans, gaining exposure to island infrastructure and aviation support services.
The day also featured an NIAP presentation, offering valuable insights and knowledge-sharing for participating cadets.

Cadets of the Special National Integration Camp, Kavaratti took part in a Beach Cleanliness Drive at the Western Jetty, Lakshadweep. As part of the 12-day camp organised by HQ Ernakulam Group, Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate, over 200 cadets came together to clear plastic waste from one of the island’s busiest tourist zones. After learning about the ecological importance of Lakshadweep and its fragile marine ecosystem, the cadets translated awareness into action. The effort was warmly appreciated by the local administration and island residents.

Tent Pegging is a traditional equestrian sport that tests a rider’s precision, control and courage while galloping at high speed to pick up ground targets using a lance or sword.

Horse Paramvir of 1 Kerala R&V Sqn NCC has been honoured with the DGNCC Commendation Card for Lifetime Achievement, conferred by Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General NCC.

This rare recognition marks an extraordinary milestone, as Paramvir becomes the only horse across NCC pan-India to receive the DGNCC Commendation.

Three major NCC camps were successfully conducted in the islands: Lakshadweep NCC Rally (27 Oct–15 Nov 2025), ATC Kadmat (21–30 Nov 2025), and SNIC Kavaratti (23 Dec 2025–03 Jan 2026).

Each camp placed strong emphasis on coral conservation, environmental awareness, national integration, and youth participation, reinforcing the NCC’s commitment to sustainable island ecosystems and nation-building.
