SCANDALOUS! World-renowned architects turned political operatives!

The architects Edi Rama has worked with while dividing up Albania's wealth have apparently all transformed into political operatives overnight!

In their writings, published as part of Albanian Files, they relentlessly attack the Democratic Party while praising the Socialist Party and Prime Minister Rama—even commenting on local politics.

This architectural firm, which has established a strong presence in Korçë and carried out numerous projects there, goes so far as to describe the Democrats and the Democratic Party of Albania as the former communist force in the country. Yes, unbelievable but true!

It seems that lucrative public contracts—or the desire to profit from public funds in Europe's poorest country—have "compelled" these firms to become advocates for the Socialist Party, while deliberately rewriting history.

According to this narrative, once Edi Rama awards you a project, he is suddenly no longer the son of Kristaq Rama, a member of the former communist Presidium who signed the execution order for poet Havzi Nela in 1988. The 10th Congress of the Party of Labour in June 1991, where Albania's communist ruling party simply changed its name to the Socialist Party, apparently never happened. Nor does the fact that dozens of Socialist officials, ministers, MPs, mayors, and senior officials have faced corruption and organized crime charges.

Ironically, these same firms earn their money in Albania from officials of the successor party to the former communist regime, while repeating the familiar slogan that "it's all Sali's fault" or that "the opposition is the problem."

There is a clear difference between holding personal opinions and publishing defamatory political claims in a book. For a supposedly international architectural firm such as Bolles+Wilson, this is entirely unacceptable.

These positions are not accidental.

Previously, Dutch architect Reinier de Graaf even suggested that Albania should stop holding elections altogether and instead appoint his client, Edi Rama, as king or president for life.

These are, in my view, well-paid lobbying efforts financed by the taxes of the poorest and most exploited people in Europe.

These contracts and these clientelist networks surrounding Edi Rama deserve full transparency and a thorough investigation.

In Parliament, we will raise these issues and demand accountability. How were these contracts awarded? Why were these firms selected? And why do Edi Rama's friends always seem to be the winners?
