It’s actually crazy how X makes you believe the entire world is falling apart every single day.
Another war, another crisis, another headline about how we’re all fucked.
Then you go outside and realize everyone is just living their normal lives, going to work, eating at restaurants and enjoying themselves.
Sometimes you just need to close X, stop consuming all this fear and go enjoy your life. The algorithm makes you believe that everything is negative and bad.
wtf are these people smoking just because it probably wont transpire into much this year in particular doesn’t mean it’s a bad move. People just can’t fathom the Giants being decent
Remember when the Geno Smith-led Seahawks traded for Leonard Williams hovering just above .500?
Giants and CB Greg Newsome reached agreement on a three-year, $46 million extension, including $32 million guaranteed, per @ErikBurkhardt of @RocNationSports. Newsome previously signed a one-year deal in free agency.
The current outlook for the rest of the Giants’ season is exactly why doing pre-season game by game predictions is dumb
The Eagles games were two of the toughest on the schedule, now they have McKee at QB
The Colt game looks insanely easy, the Browns game looks harder
I think at this point the Bears are my best bet to win the NFC North right now, yes even with an 0-2 division record
I weirdly think Detroit is the one team that can catch them though, but I still don’t think they have a good defense though
If there’s one game that I think the Giants will likely not be favored to win by most people but could shock people in, it’s that game in Seattle in December
Especially if Darnold keeps playing like this
The Giants have won their last 4 games as road favorites:
2025 at Las Vegas (-3)
2023 at Arizona (-4.5)
2020 at Cincinnati (-6.5)
2019 at Washington (-1)
The Eagles are 0-10 in their last 10 games as a home underdog going back to the end of the 2020 NFL season (0-3 this season)
The last time they won a game as a home dog? 2020 vs the Saints...
With Taysom Hill at QB
The New York Giants are currently a 3-point road favorite at the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9.
➡️It would mark the first time that the NY Giants have been favored in Philly in 17 years (-1.5 at PHI; Nov. 1, 2009)
Joe Judge sucked as a HC but damn I gotta give him props for giving DJ some credit. He was 100% put in an awful sitation and now he's doing a whole lot better. And it can get better too!
People forget what 2018 and 2020 were like. Bad GOP years.
In 2018 we were in the depths of Russiagate and the investigations into the President. Democrats were completely unified in their effort to stop Trump. Republicans were still massively divided. Women's marches were everywhere. Protests in DC nonstop. Democrats were activated, mobilized, and Trump was completely hamstrung.
We came in with 53 Senate seats and held on to 51. We flipped Florida - Rick Scott defeated an incumbent Bill Nelson, and DeSantis won. We flipped Missouri and Indiana, too.
In 2020 we were in the depths of COVID and peak BLM hysteria. Democrats were again incredibly activated. Mass protests everywhere. Polls were projecting a complete wipeout, and the President losing to Biden by 10+. Trump only lost the popular vote by about 4.5 points. Dems just barely held the Senate, getting only to 50 seats.
What, exactly, is happening in 2026 that is driving the GOP to the worst performance since Watergate? Gas being $4.00 a gallon instead of $3.00 a gallon?
I mean yeah, it's a midterm and inflation is too high. Ok. Democrats have problems EVERYWHERE, unlike anything they had in previous years. They had a rapist with the Nazi tattoo win the primary in Maine, and were forced to replace him at the last minute with the guy who came in 4th in their gubernatorial primary. Their candidate in Michigan is so repellent that his primary opponent - who got 47% of the primary vote - has endorsed the Republican. Their candidate in Alaska is likely going to face criminal charges for conspiring to defraud Alaskans of the right to vote for the candidate of their choice. Democrats everywhere are bickering and fighting. And where are the Iran War protests? Oh right they aren't happening. The "No Kings" protests are anemic.
Meanwhile, Republicans have never been more institutionally behind President Trump. He's still doing rallies everywhere and pulling big audiences.
That's going to lead to a D+13 environment - something we haven't seen since Watergate?
Sorry I just don't believe you. It's 2026, normal people have been ignoring polls for a decade now and aren't picking up the phone for Nate Cohn.
D+4, and Susan Collins and Mike Rogers defy the tide and win too because the Democrat candidates are historically bad.
Saying this before Tuesday:
- Bill Clinton lost 54 House Seats and 8 Senate Seats. He got re-elected.
- Biden impressively fended off a Red Wave. He did not get re-elected.
- There are many examples of this happening both ways.
Regardless of result, it’s important not to overreact. A strong Republican performance cannot make us overconfident and pretend that the economy is fine for 2028. Biden made that mistake.
Conversely, if the polls and media end up being right, it is not actually “over.” Avoid the doom spiral and stay focused. A lot can change in 2 years, as we’ve hopefully learned recently. Sometimes the true vibe of the country gets suppressed by extraneous midterm factors that don’t affect Presidential years. We have to stay focused on the mission, not the noise, either way.
Go vote.
@TinyGiantNYG I made a thread about this not too long ago
KOC hasn’t really had any true development success stories even prior to JJ, he’s mostly worked with veterans and some of them have actually played worse under him
https://t.co/OmP1fmoTeb
KOC hasn't developed or even improved a single QB in his entire time as an assistant or HC
I mean let's go name by name:
- '15 Browns (QB coach)- Everyone was bad including Johnny Manziel who was out of the NFL by 2016, not a single success story there
and while I feel like Dart will ultimately work out here, i can't use one game vs the Cowboys defense as proof of that while simultaneously saying that what JJ did against the Texans "didn;t mean much" because their defense isn't good supposedly (it's not awful tbh)
Not at all saying this to downplay what Dart did in week one because we have last year too of course
But for all the talk about completely being sold after one game, the same Dallas Cowboys defense he faced then also made the likes of Minshew and Jalon Daniels look good too…
Meanwhile, JJ McCarthy played objectively two better defenses than Dallas, and still looked very good in those games too
Yet, all I’m seeing is that it’s “too early to judge” with him
Again, I understand that last year exists, but things do change year to year in the NFL
Eagles are almost certainly not making the playoffs this year for the first time since 2020
If the Packers also don't make the playoffs, this would be the first NFL playoffs without the Packers or Eagles since 2005!
The Chiefs' offense up until Mahomes' injury last year averaged roughly 23.4 PPG (would've been 15th best)
The Chiefs' offense this year with Eric Bieniemy AND Kenneth Walker added to the team? 23.9 PPG (12th in NFL)
It was never Nagy's fault it got worse, the roster is worse
