TeamGB Women’s curlers finished strongly with 3 straight wins missing out on semis in extra end between Sui & USA in last stone. Overall a very credible week, focus now to Men’s semis at 18.35 UK tonight where TeamGB led by Bruce Mouat take on Sui.

🙌 Active Stirling proudly hosted its annual Active Girls Day on Wednesday 8 October at Stirling County Rugby Football Club, celebrating Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week with a vibrant day of movement, motivation, and connection.
Over 90 female pupils from secondary schools across Stirling — including Balfron, Dunblane, Stirling, Bannockburn, Wallace, McLaren, and St Modan’s — came together to explore new ways to get active and build confidence through sport.
The event featured a wide range of sessions including Rugby, Pilates, Strength & Conditioning, Podcasting, and Q&A interviews, all designed to help girls discover activities that suit their interests and lifestyles.
Stirling Council’s Lord Provost Elaine Watterson attended and shared messages of encouragement and support for the future of girls in sport.
She said: “I felt inspired and enthused at being part of this fantastic event and I’m sure these feelings were shared by the girls from our secondary schools in attendance.
"Not only did the girls have opportunities to take part in a variety of sports and activities, they also got to engage with some remarkable role models which will give them belief about what can be achieved through sport.
“I’m proud that Stirling Council, Active Stirling and other local organisations are embracing this important campaign to encourage more women and girls to get active and the incredible benefits from doing so.
"No matter your age or ability, there will be something for you, whether you’re just starting out or taking your next step.”

💬🙌 “Celebrating this week shines a light on how far we have come in closing the gender gap and boosting inclusion, but also how we have to continue to push forward to get more women and girls involved in sport.
“I have been in a wheelchair for most of my life and I hope winning silver at the World Mixed Doubles Wheelchair Curling Championships in Scotland earlier this year shows others that the biggest obstacles can be overcome and demonstrates how challenges can help you excel when you set your mind to it.
“Sport has given me so much on and off the ice and I love being part of a brilliant curling squad in Stirling within a welcoming and inclusive environment which celebrates and supports teamwork and achievement.
