'Some residents have declined to a point where they no longer recognise their relatives and we had to watch this happen. Please make a change.'

For six years, Voices For Seniors has fought for the Essential Caregivers Act because we lived through the unthinkable. We watched families locked out while their loved ones suffered and died alone. We made a promise that this could never happen again, and we have not stopped fighting.
For the past year, we’ve also been working to pass New York’s camera bill because our most vulnerable citizens deserve protection, accountability, and transparency. Families should have the option to place a camera in a loved one’s nursing home room, with proper consent, to help deter abuse and neglect and provide peace of mind.
Nothing worth fighting for comes easy. These bills have taken years of meetings, phone calls, testimony, setbacks, and persistence. We don’t do this for recognition. We do it because every senior deserves dignity, every family deserves a voice, and no one should ever have to wonder what is happening to the person they love.
We will keep showing up. We will keep speaking out. And we will keep fighting until these protections become law.

Mo’Nique calls out Oprah for speaking on Whitney Houston when she’s no longer alive to defend herself and calls it unfair, saying she wouldn’t speak on an incident or conversation she had with a person if they can’t confirm it with a yes or no.

This is a poem that needed to be shared with anyone who lost a father or that father figure that stepped in. Missing angels 🪽 on earth 🌍. Happy Father’s Day!!! to all that stood up to being called Dad, Daddy, Papa, Pops and did the best job that they could.
To everyone who helped bring the Obama Presidential Center to life, thank you. Michelle and I are so grateful for all your dedication and hard work over the years.
I got a little teary-eyed tonight thinking about my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson.
Every senior has a story. Every senior has value. Every senior deserves dignity, respect, and to know they are not forgotten.
At Voices For Seniors, we believe that how we treat our older generations says everything about who we are as a society. We will continue to advocate, educate, and work to ensure that seniors are seen, heard, and protected.
Whether it’s through community programs, acts of kindness, or standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves, together we can make a difference.
Because growing older should never mean becoming invisible.

@The911onABC I’ve had said it before, let FOX channel know that they made the biggest mistake by not renewing 9-1-1. Their loss is a win for ABC!!!! The Finale was nail biting and so bleeping 🤬 at the same time. The writers ✍️ keep stepping up 👏🏾 for Season 10.
