Masters World Championship – 3rd Place 🥉
What a week in England.
Huge thanks to everyone on Wolly Mammoth for giving me the opportunity to play ultimate frisbee again after 10 years. I honestly never thought I’d play again, let alone at a World Championship.
This week you guys made something very clear. Yes I love ultimate frisbee, I love throwing hammer goals and getting layout D’s, but what I missed most was being part of a team. Having a group of guys all buying into one goal and pushing each other to achieve it. Being part of this team showed me what I’ve been missing and I look forward to playing again with you all.
As for what’s next…
Overall, I’m happy with how my body held up. I avoided any major injuries, and during our quarterfinal I finally started to feel a little like my old self again. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to play in the Semifinals against Clapham (body just had enough) and that sucked, but I’ll use that for fuel moving forward.
I’m going all in on training for ultimate over the next 4–5 months to see what I’m capable of. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. If I can squeeze a few more great years out of this sport, that’ll be a dream come true.
Thanks to everyone who supported us throughout the tournament, and to everyone I met at the tournament. The positive messages, conversations, and support meant more than you know.
BRODIESMITH21 IS BACK!
@Brodiesmith21 After seeing you in your mid to late 30s “out of your prime” get in shape and get back into ultimate. You unlocked something in all us in our mid to late 30s to get back in shape and not be like eh I’m just getting older mentally. #brodiesmithfitness
Highlights from today’s practice with Texas Barbecue
Every week the body is starting to feel better and better. Still looking pretty stiff out there, but we have lots of unfinished work. Not ideal where this will all end up. I’m just excited to be given the opportunity to play this sport again. Leave for England next week to compete for a World Championship!
Big thanks to everyone on Texas Barbecue on letting me come out and get some work in. Good luck at your next tournament!

Quick Forehand Grip Test 🥏
Most players never check this.
Grab a disc and look at your grip from the side.
✅ No gap between your palm and the underside of the disc
✅ The meaty part of your palm should be directly underneath the disc
❌ If there’s a gap or your hand is off to the side, you’re probably losing power, spin, and consistency.

Try it right now and comment below:
Did your grip pass the test?
One of the easiest nutrition tricks I use when looking for high protein foods:
Take the grams of protein and add a zero.
Example:
• 20g protein = 200
• 15g protein = 150
• 10g protein = 100
Now compare that number to the calories per serving.
If the protein number with a zero added is GREATER than the calories, it's generally a great source of protein.
Examples:
• 20g protein, 180 calories = Great protein source
• 15g protein, 220 calories = Not as protein dense
This isn't a perfect rule, but it's a quick way to spot foods that give you a lot of protein for relatively few calories when you're shopping.
Check out the nutrition labels in the photos and see which ones pass the test!
Most people look at calories first. I look at protein efficiency first.
