ConformityGate is not a thing. There is no hidden episode. What is happening is some Stranger Things fans struggling with an ending that refuses to be definitive, an ending that disappointed them. When a story denies certainty or clean closure, people reach for belief to fill the gap.
The irony is that this is exactly what the final scene is exploring. Belief as a coping mechanism. Stories we tell ourselves to live with loss or ambiguity. In that sense, Stranger Things accidentally turned some of its own themes into a real-world response.
No folks, there is no ninth episode. It’s time to put the D&D books on the shelf, go upstairs, and eat that lasagna.
