Lots of people asking me about the Talk for Reading approach. Do check out this article I wrote for the recent @Talk4Writing newsletter that explores how to plan a unit, fuelled through discussions with the amazing teachers @wrprimary

Playing with @PieCorbett’s innovation of Wallace Stevens’s great poem is at the heart of today’s blog. A wonderfully playful activity! @Talk4Writing#edutwitter

I take great pride in losing 5kg in January. Since then, I have reintroduced gin, wine and cheese and have put half back on. I am happier now but find the whole weight loss fiasco sad. Oh well. Bring on the Camembert!
Looking forward to working with the lovely English subject leaders from @BromleyWTSA later this afternoon. Today’s focus will be supporting handwriting and maintaining a love of literature as part of a recovery curriculum @theliteracytree
What an incredible opportunity to join one of the most inspiring schools I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Such a great team of teachers. If you are a @Talk4Writing advocate, look no further!
What an fantastic morning working with the staff @BridgetownPS. It is wonderful to revisit the @Talk4Writing methodology, considering how we support children in becoming confident, independent writers. Lots of toolkit work exploring action today - I’m exhausted! 😆
This half term, I promised myself I would read for pleasure and have a break from work. Feeling utterly rested and having devoured Raven’s Gate by @AnthonyHorowitz , I feel ready for the next 6 weeks. Bring it on! #edutwitter#readingforpleasure

First full round of T4W complete both fiction and non-fiction. All taught online. T4W works brilliantly as e-learning.Kids love it! Looking forward to next term. Thanks @JamieWTSA as your zoom training sessions were inspiring. Definitely recommend to anyone considering T4W.
Absolutely buzzing from co-delivering the first Poetry Across Primary School conference with @PieCorbett and @jamescarterpoet. Such incredible writing produced in the session - cannot wait to see the impact in schools. @Talk4Writing
Today, I worked with some fab teachers to plan a Y3 @Talk4Writing unit based on the amazing novel Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. I now am just gutted I cannot teach it myself - such an exciting unit exploring character. So much can be achieved through online consultancy.
I just love how @Talk4Writing encourages children to engage in stories. Finley (4) made up this story this morning and has already begun to draw it, retell it and now write it. @PieCorbett
Story invention is a quick, fun, engaging activity you can do with your children each and every day. In today’s @Talk4Writing blog, I explain the key steps to support families in delivering this at home.

Am seeing a lot of teachers fretting over English planning whilst schools are closed for first two weeks. Just want to remind you that there are over 20 weeks of plans for every year group on the @Talk4Writing website. Hope it helps. https://t.co/uveTMF0QEp
