Commencement speech by Elizabeth Bonker who just graduated from Rollins college. She had autism And is nonverbal. She shared her speech using an AAC device. Just amazing! https://t.co/99NFRm9AvB
Wow! This is such an amazing story. Everybody deserves a voice and this young lady is going to change the world with hers. Seeing someone using an AAC device and give a commencement speech- warms my heart. #BHSM https://t.co/TXhKmRc2KP
So proud of the ambassador’s community service project! Collecting food for the EGF Backpack Program through United Way. #egfpride#unitedway#egfambassadors
We had an intense Jenga competition. So much language can be used during play (i.e. your/my turn, fell down, top, bottom, middle, push/pull, etc.). Plus a little laughter never hurts!! #EGFPride
Yesterday Aiden showed the kiddos his new speaking device. He also gave each kiddo a name sign so we reviewed those while he pushed their picture on his speaking device ❤️ So, so cool!!
Love Wednesday’s! Our friend teaches us his language - Sign Language that is ❤️ Thank you Mrs. Duckstad for helping with this & coming up with this idea! I love it!
Congratulations to this student for graduating from speech!! It is such a bittersweet day because I am so proud of my students but I miss seeing them in speech. The relationships that are made mean the world. #egfpride
When the electricity goes out at school and your student independently communicates with you using an AAC device- and wanting to know what happened. Everyone has thoughts and everyone deserves a voice. #EGFPride#communication#aacawarenessmonth
Thank you to @MrsRWalk for setting up a Zoom session for the kids. They were so happy to see their teacher and each other. That face to face connection is so important. #EGFPride#distancelearning
