@farmingandJesus It's important to examine yourself (Philippians 2 : 12). I thought I was saved when I was 5 but I was deceived until I was 43. The Holy Spirit entered into me and transformed me on June 20, 2017. ๐
Satan has your entire lifetime to deceive you.
Matthew 7 : 16-23
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not some vague mystical experience where the mind is emptied and emotions take over.
To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to live under the rule, influence, power, and presence of Christ. The Holy Spirit does not draw attention away from Jesus. He glorifies Christ, makes His Word precious, exposes sin, strengthens obedience, and shapes the life of the believer around the Lordship of Jesus.
โHe will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to youโ (John 16:14).
This is why Paul connects being filled with the Holy Spirit to worship, gratitude, submission, holiness, and a life ordered before God. It is not spiritual chaos. It is Christ centered obedience flowing from a heart governed by God.
โBe filled with the Spiritโ (Ephesians 5:18).
A person filled with the Holy Spirit will not become less biblical, less humble, less self controlled, or less obedient. The Holy Spirit produces the likeness of Christ, not spiritual performance for attention.
โBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulnessโ (Galatians 5:22).
The fullness of the Holy Spirit is not measured by noise, emotion, or claims of power. It is seen when Christ becomes precious, sin becomes hateful, Scripture becomes living, worship becomes sincere, and obedience becomes the desire of the heart.
To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to have the life increasingly dominated by the presence, truth, and glory of Christ.
You know, I have never thought of it as "my book". As I think about it right now in the context of a book I would call it God's book vs my book, but I feel that doesn't do it justice, what immediately comes to mind is I would call it God's Word. His Word written down for me to be able to read. What I can tell you is as a witness to you on my own life, is that reading God's Word transformed my life, and it wasn't a factual understanding of what I read where I then decided "okay this is true" and perhaps it is because I never grew up doubting if it were true or not, I think I would characterize it more like God's Word spoke to my conscience. I guess I'd encourage you to read His Word and see if it speaks to you because it definitely spoke to me. I'd also encourage you to speak to God before reading His Word, tell Him what you think.

Encouragement from the word of God if you're reading this and are being persecuted today for your faith in Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:3-11 NASBS
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, [4] who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. [5] For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. [6] But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer; [7] and our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings, so also you are sharers of our comfort. [8] For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; [9] indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; [10] who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, [11] you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.
With 63,000 cross references and over 300 prophesies about Jesus that were fulfilled over 700 years after they were written, how could anyone doubt that the Bible is true?
@farmingandJesus Ecclesiastes 5:2
Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.
@cb_doge Mark 8:34-38
Repent and believe.
Jesus isn't something you add to your life. Your life is what you lay down. There is nothing good within you.
@cb_doge Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. [14] For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. [8] For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
