I was wrong about my take on sports. I apologize for being close minded.

I witnessed something at the poker table today which influenced my thinking.

I’m deep in the $3,000 WSOP event.

Guy doesn’t say anything all night, loses a flip and is down to his last few chips. Complete stoic.

Argentina scores at the last minute to secure the victory. 

He erupts from his chair and bursts out cheering. 

At the table next to us, another player is celebrating. These two men high five, hug and embrace each other.

You guys from Argentina, I ask? 

It’s a reasonable question given that we’re at a table full of bettors. 

“Of course!” He says. “But I don’t even know that guy.”

In a world where we’re ever more divided over seemingly everything, I’m all for things that bring strangers closer together and connect us. 

It was very cool to see the spirit and raw emotion of it all, and has helped reshape my view on sports and their place in society.

If all NEW chips are needed to call, it's a call.
Remove a new chip, does it leave 1600 to call? No.
So all new chips were needed to call - its a call.

Were both new chips needed to make the call?
Remove smallest new chip, is there enough to call?
No.
Therefore both chips were needed to call, it's a call.

If not clear, it may be interpreted to mean other than what the player intended.
It's on the player to be clear with what they're doing.
You wanna be ambiguous? You risk it being ruled differently than what you intended.
