My dad used to say “it’s just stuff, Margaret.” This became a prominent topic when he became ill. He didn’t want to burden my sister and me with feeling the need to keep his things when he died. I kept some of his meaningful possessions, but most of it was absorbed by his estate or given away, just the way he’d have wanted it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this over the last few weeks, it’s no secret donations are way down and I’m struggling to feed the horses. I have to buy hay tomorrow and I don’t know how to pay for it.

And I have “stuff”, way more than I need. I have a shed loaded with “stuff” I haven’t looked at in five years. Soon I’m going to deal with it all and divest myself of the “stuff” that I will use to benefit the horses here.

So today I start with these. Giant’s Causeway and Henrythenavigator halters. No COA but they’re authentic. They came from my time at HRTV. And though I love them, the residents here are much more important to me. I could try to set up an auction for these, but I don’t have time unfortunately.

There won’t be any more for GC and not many for HTN. Not sure what they’re worth, but some folks have given me an idea. So give me your best offer and they can be yours. Separate or together…

We received $115 in donations since yesterday, leaving us with $2,005 left (including feed and Equioxx) to meet our November goal. Things are officially in desperate mode right now, not even kidding.

friends. It made the celebration that much better! I received texts from dozens of our friends sharing the victory! That’s why this game is so great….we lost a friend (Matt Hickenbotham) nearly 10 years ago….and 10 years later, this horse brings us back together to honor
