@faerygoffmother@BufferingJuffy@_celia_bedelia_ I said I didn't want children because the world was shit when I was really young.
Around 2015-17 I kinda started having hope for the world I guess? Climate action movement was taking off, gay marriage got legalised in a bunch of countries, you know?
Had a kid.
@angelito_chiqi@Youknowhwatsuc1@fatzoekravitz She's like the weird ultra-bigoted bible kids from 20 years back, on crack.
She despises most people around her. For many reasons, including being sinners.
She's seriously abrasive and not easy to get along with.
And that's FINE.
@angelito_chiqi@Youknowhwatsuc1@fatzoekravitz Yeah, no, not like that. She'd not only be all of that, but even for 70s standards heavily and religiously so. She'd be the kid who'd call you a whore in first grade for wearing a knee length dress with biking shorts underneath.
Her mum taught her that breasts are dirty pillows.
@shaunasknife Tbh, a Carrie with a BMI of 22 would be almost revolutionary at this point.
We also have to remember that Carrie was in a time when it wasn't common for people to be overweight, so she stuck out for it much, much more.
@shaunasknife I mean, I do want a book accurate Carrie, but she's just not really all that ugly and fat. I got the impression that she's a bit chubby and actually a bit pretty but it's how she presents herself.
When she's done up for prom, she gets called pretty.
@silverflameyuri cat just sitting in the compartment.
We don't go there often, so we can't have let him in accidentally because he would have been dead from hunger if he slipped in when we were in the basement before.
@silverflameyuri Two years ago a cat somehow managed to get trapped inside our closed basement. Window closed. Door to the other basement compartments closed. Didn't find a sufficiently big hole anywhere either.
But one day we had to get something from the basement, there was a random
@BufferingJuffy@_celia_bedelia_ Ding ding ding we have a winner!
You don't sound like a nutter at all.
Cognitive decline after COVID is a pretty well established fact so.
@melvv145 If her name was Mary, she'd now be bloody Mary or something equally as uncreative but annoying.
(I peed myself in 8th grade and my nickname after that was Rupeepee instead of Ruby)
At her 10 years highschool reunion someone would bring it up as something everyone looks back
@Lexorcyst and they'd be nice enough to give you one. That was definitely true back at my school.
BUT: if any of us had shown a vulnerability and ignorance that Carrie shows in that scene, she would have been dead meat. She would have been the target of period jokes until graduation.
@Lexorcyst I mean, for me it was both. But I was the opposite of Carrie, I was the first in my class to start (very early) and first got bullied
Later, in highschool, the "even the mean girls would have passed you a pad" was true in the sense of that you could ask any girl if they had one
@maenadea@TPatbat all. She was a kid and her mum and my mum were friends for a short while and girl was bullied before she came to my school so I totally get that she was just happy to not be the target for once. She shouldn't have joined in, but she was 8 years old and kids are dumb.
@maenadea@TPatbat Like, that girl had EVERYTHING that bullies like to pick on. But her parents weren't as bad so she was more socially adjusted and normal about growing up extremely Christian and in comparison to us, she seemed perfectly normal. And I just wanna mention that I don't blame her at
