@TheMathersFoun1@BCSouthCampus@HortUrban@millionorchid It is Oncidium ensatum, a Florida native. They are terrestrials, planted under a large oak tree. Dr Downing @millionorchid recommends P668 for both germination and replates of OE. Photos show installation in 2019 (behind a row of spathoglottis) and seed pods in 2022.

I’m working on a talk called “Landscaping with Orchids.” The audience is gardeners, not orchid specialists. So, orchids for patios, screened pools, palms, terrestrials, etc. Any awesome photos to share? How do you use the gorgeous flowers shown here every day in your landscape?
Fun day installing 150 Encyclia tampensis seedlings with four Florida Master Gardener Volunteers guiding many Rio Vista friends and neighbors. @HortUrban @millionorchid
One of the highlights of my recent trip was talking about Yellowstone’s native orchids with Ranger Harlan. Congratulations on achieving this milestone!
Congratulations to Ranger Harlan Kredit on his 50th summer in Yellowstone! His knowledge of Yellowstone’s history and resources have helped him become one of the most effective rangers in the park’s history! Have a story or photo of Ranger Harlan? Share it below!
@YellowstoneNPS Congrats! I spent some time in late May searching for Calypso bulbosa and Ranger Harlan was a huge help. Sadly all the colonies we knew about were still buried under snow. My best memento of the trip is the Junior Ranger badge he awarded to me for my noble quest! 😀
The ghost orchid (Dendrophylax lindenii) is a sight to behold with its thin, delicate tendrils that appear to be floating, hence its common name.

Many Florida Master Gardener Volunteers came to help Garden Club of Coral Springs install native orchids at Sandy Ridge Sanctuary. Showers blew through to cool us all off 😀 @HortUrban
