THE CIA'S SECOND-IN-COMMAND JUST FIRED THE AGENCY'S LAWYER AND HIRED HIMSELF
Michael Ellis. Deputy Director of the CIA. This week he walked into the general counsel's office, removed the person whose entire job is to tell the CIA when it's breaking the law, and installed himself in the seat
Read that again. The man running covert operations is now also the man who approves whether those covert operations are legal. No separation. No independent check. Just Ellis, grading his own homework, in the most secretive agency in the federal government
There is no oversight body watching this happen in real time. No confirmation hearing. No public vote. One trusted Trump loyalist just erased the one internal brake that existed inside the CIA's legal chain
This is the same Michael Ellis who Trump tried to install as NSA general counsel back in 2020 and got blocked for being too political to trust with classified legal judgment
Didn't matter. Trump brought him back anyway. Promoted him anyway. And now he's unsupervised, sitting on both sides of the legal review process for one of the most powerful intelligence agencies on planet earth
Compare that to a career CIA analyst who needs three signatures and a security review just to expense a cab ride
Ellis needed zero signatures to seize legal authority over his own conduct
This isn't a personnel shuffle. This is Donald Trump's pattern, repeating inside the one agency where nobody is supposed to see it happen
Schedule F for the civil service. Loyalty tests for prosecutors. Acting officials who answer only to Trump. And now the CIA's own watchdog function, swallowed whole by the guy it was supposed to watch
When the people checking the power and the people holding the power are the same person, that's not an intelligence agency anymore
That's a black box with Donald Trump's name on the door
And nobody elected Michael Ellis to anything
JUST IN: Two-thirds of Americans now support Medicare for All, the highest percentage ever according to KFF.
Curious that the leadership of the Democratic Party continue to ignore the American people.
Eddie Van Halen passed away on October 6, 2020, at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California. His son, Wolfgang Van Halen, broke the news to the world that morning, announcing that his father had lost his battle with cancer. Edward Lodewijk Van Halen was born on January 26, 1955, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, before emigrating with his family to Pasadena, California, in 1962. Alongside his brother Alex, bassist Michael Anthony, and vocalist David Lee Roth, he redefined the possibilities of electric guitar with the release of Van Halen’s self-titled debut in 1978. Through masterworks like Eruption, his pioneer two-handed tapping technique, custom Frankenstein guitar builds, and rhythmic swing, Eddie fundamentally transformed modern rock music. His final live performance with Van Halen took place on October 4, 2015, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, closing out a historic career that reshaped guitar playing forever.

“Murphy is providing a much needed service to the American public…he is on the ground, exposing the lies, challenging the leaders, and sharing his work directly with the rest of us.”
Being in your 50s is confusing...
On paper, I'm 56.
In my head, I'm 37.
At a concert, I'm 25.
After 9pm, I'm 87.
Getting up off the floor, I'm 104.
When someone pisses me off, I'm
14.
But when an 80s song comes on...
I'm 17, drunk in a field, and my mother thinks I'm at a sleepover… ✌🏼
I know a lot of college educated people don’t think Jackson sends a thrill up the leg of the oped boards whose approval they crave.
But every time he speaks, I just love that an ordinary American dude is speaking common sense and truth to power and fighting for ordinary folks.
🚨🚨🚨🚨BREAKING🚨 SpaceX just DRAINED a Texas town's water, taking 128 MILLION gallons they were not allowed to. The TOWN is now paying the fine.
McGregor will be paying it for the next 25 YEARS.
SpaceX tests its rockets there and pumps water straight from the town's wells: about 700,000 gallons a DAY. In two years, its overpumping got 15 TIMES worse, according to The Waco Bridge.
When the town council voted to pay the fine, SpaceX didn't even show up to the meeting.
And the water doesn't come back. The aquifer refills over "thousands of years."
"Some day, we'll reach a point where there's no water," the water district's president warned, possibly within 50 years.
The town's mayor says there's "plenty of water." He also runs the water company the town may have to start buying from.
One resident was so furious he bought a full-page newspaper ad: "SpaceX is the primary driver for overpumping these wells, and they're not responsible for any of it."
🚨Before you go… #Trump just TORE UP the protections keeping cancer-causing chemicals out of our drinking water.
God I love me some Pete Buttigieg ❤️
"I mean, they run Washington now. If they wanted you to have a $5,000 check, they would’ve sent you a $5,000 check."
.@KeishaBottoms: I believe Georgia's best days are ahead. What we do in this moment will echo through history so let's choose hope over fear, progress over division and come together to build a better Georgia for everyone while my opponent is running to enrich himself and be Trump's favorite governor.
