Living in NE Vic, Taungurung land, progressive, occasional van lady, elderly activist, well, a tiny bit!
Accountable Government with professional standards.
We, colonial Australia did this written in 1856 but ignored in our 1901 constitution If not now when will we recognise First Nations in our constitution @yes23au#WriteYes to make a better united Australia
So, 50 years later, the mainstream press is reporting climate change... Every population should be taking out class actions against all the Multimillionaires responsible for raping the Earth while ignoring the science. They drove us to this catastrophe.
@colonelhogans Sad that people look to America and support someone so divisive, whom they have never met, and will, hopefully, never have the opportunity to vote for. Something psychological no doubt. I guess, similarly they support the miserable and corrupt here. Poor Oz!
@anna_prole Sad to see the politicization of this issue. For these people it is all about trouncing Albo, and nothing to do with the change to the Constitution. I hope the smiles will be wiped off after the Referendum. If there is any justice.
@stevejco I don't trust the polls, but I am concerned about the complete ignorance of older country people. Would not open my mouth in my small town. They say if the aboriginal people want better conditions they should be prepared to move to where the work is. No idea!
@TracyWesterman New diseases from Europe, flour sugar and alcohol given as wages. I hear people saying they should move to cities and look for work. How do they afford to move, and how would they cope without the background of their critics to guide them?
@TracyWesterman The Aboriginal peoples had their way of living depending on their ancestral lands. They were moved off the lands, many enslaved to large properies, their children were taken from their culture, groups of men were moved away from their familes.
