"If I were called on to declare what means of conversion, besides public preaching, had been most blessed of God, I should unhesitatingly answer, maternal instruction." - Archibald Alexander
Great weekend at CompassLB. Saturday morning neighborhood outreach. Sunday morning family service with lunch. Sunday evening dinner, worship, fellowship and prayer with the college ministry. Thanking the Lord for His faithfulness.
To have a thankful and joyful Christmas you must meditate deeply on why Jesus came into the world. That’s what we will be doing the next 2 weeks in the CompassHB Bible Class.
"And the haughtiness of man shall be humbled, and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day." (Isaiah 2:17) This is a good word to keep in mind one week for an election as we wait for "that Day." #Maranatha
@johnmacarthur back at @GraceComChurch for a Q&A after being away for 3 months due to health issues. We’re all glad to see him! He’s still fighting the good fight.
This weekend at CompassHB, I am preaching “Honor Your Father” from Exodus 20:12. Sadly, this seems to have become a forgotten commandment. I am praying that the Lord will use His Word in the hearts of many for His glory and their good.

May I be willing, Lord, to bear
Daily my cross for Thee
Even Thy cup of grief to share
Thou hast borne all for me
Lest I forget Gethsemane
Lest I forget Thine agony
Lest I forget Thy love for me
Lead me to Calvary
50 years ago today I met the man in this picture-Dennis Saffold. He told me some good news that I had never heard before-the gospel. God saved my soul that day. I am more than thankful. The Lord has been so good to me.
