A group of ecologists at Michigan State University
Restoration, land use impacts/legacies, population, community, landscape ecology, of plants and other taxa
Today we were joined by lab alums and friends for our annual #extinctspecieshaiku Halloween lab meeting (because extinction is scary!)
We present the haikus chronologically by ~year of extinction, with extinction year in parentheses (good idea @FoggyIdeas):
We held a fantastic joint lab meeting today with @AnnaBucharova and Team. Super interesting to talk about seed sourcing and seed-based restoration research, comparing notes and findings from North American prairies and European semi-natural grasslands.
Thanks, Everyone!
Congrats to to @BrudvigLab grad students @crwarneke and @itatiVCS for winning the Bessey Award for Outstanding Grad Research and Fields Award for Outstanding Teaching, respectively, in Plant Biology at MSU
Really well done - we're very proud of you both!

Congrats to @BrudvigLab grad student @RileyPizza for publishing their first 1st-authored paper, from their Master's research!
Really interesting work, with important consequences for seed production for restoration projects. Check it out.
Great job, Riley!
