During natural disasters we get to see a different side of many domestic and wild animals as they may be displaying somewhat rare behavior. Some of them survive and some of them don’t. Here is a thread showing examples of that.

Birds have it somewhat easy. They can sense when a hurricane is coming through even the slightest environmental changes(barometric pressure, temp, wind speed etc). You can sometimes see them in the same areas communicating with one other before a hurricane or bad storm hits

A public ledger of edits gives the best of both worlds, but I haven't seen it used much outside of the coding world and the online encyclopedia world, and that's a shame. It is an obvious tool for rebuilding trust with readers -- something our industry desperately needs to do.

I have wanted for years to use or create a journalism / blogging software that shows an open edit history, like Wikipedia, allowing readers to see timestamped changes like fixing typos or replacing words. It'd be neat for transparency. Is anyone already using a system like this?

But: Being able to fiddle with an article ad nauseum and with no evidence rewards the instinct to be two-faced; to say something full well knowing that you can take it back if the public's or a source's response is negative. You have to resist the urge to second-guess yourself.
