This piece is about the confusion, anxiety, fears and other complex feelings that I have felt during this time period of a pandemic and a race war. And the daily thoughts that occur in the life of a Black person.
My work is simply a range of comments which Black girls/women are all too familiar with. As the title suggests – these comments simply aren’t compliments.

- Anti-racism education UK schools
- The UK government must condemn Trump's response to George Floyd's murder
Having been inspired by studying Centos in my first year at Brunel, I gathered images of the signs used in the BLM protests and compiled them to create this poem - including a sign that my friend used in the Northampton protest.
