the thing holding 99% of artists back is ego. you gotta learn to get over yourself and make messy, unclean sketches and pen strokes. it should not take you two days to make one sketch or two weeks to make one colored image. your sketches should not be easily mistaken for line art

Swimming classes are an option here, in our area, we have high schoolers who took swim to teach kids how to swim, iirc those kids are in 4th-8th grade. Kids can start swimming lessons as young as 2nd grade though.
