A good reminder on how finance still works today… the Central Bank of Netherlands just spent months moving $11B in gold from New York to London.
~70% of it never actually left the ground. It was sold in NYC and repurchased in London. This reminded me of a story from 2013 – Germany took four years (!!) to move 674 tons of gold, worth $36 billion from vaults in Paris and New York.
In the 10+ years between those two stories, crypto went from a $1.5B experiment to a $2.7T asset class + financial infrastructure with real liquidity behind it. What didn't change: central banks (and a lot of the world frankly) still moving value the way they did in the 1940s.
Meanwhile self-driving cars are navigating city traffic, AI has transformed how we work, Starlink gives you internet access from just about anywhere in the world. But the best way to move value isn’t to actually move it? It’s confounding…
This an ideal use case for crypto - storing and then moving value instantly, securely, around the world, at little to no cost. How are people still fighting this?!

@SenRickScott He rose through the enlisted ranks to become an Apache helicopter pilot. He was a senior military officer and aviator with a quadruple stack on his left chest. Respect. RIP AATW
@RealJamesWoods@POTUS@GarySinise Gary always seemed to quietly show up without a lot of fanfare and significantly boost morale, whether it was in a combat theater or at a military hospital ward. Well deserved 🇺🇸

American LOSES IT at the Philadelphia City Council
“I sit here in disgust as I watch Kendra Books, Jamie Gauthier, hold up pictures of a domestic terrorist, Renee Good
- I've never seen her put up a picture of Dacara Thompson, a 19-year-old who was raped and murdered by an illegal alien and thrown over a bridge
- I never seen her put up a picture of Laken Riley, who was raped and murdered
- I never seen her put up a picture of Larisha Thompson, a mother
I named two black women, by the way. And y'all sit here and pander to white liberal women like Renee Good.”
“We are here to give something different to Philadelphia, something that y'all are not used to because you've been voting Democrat for the mayor's office for the past 70 years. It's not MAGA who's doing all of the carjacking and the shootings. When we talk about ICE, 78 million people, 7 swing states, including Pennsylvania, we voted for this. We voted for this. We gave a mandate. — we wanted a fund to deport 20 million illegal aliens that was imported in here by the Biden and Harris administration with the help of the cartels
So once y'all stand up for Americans for once, because America comes first.”
"When Chavez came to power in Venezuela, one of the first things he did was take the guns away from the people. He basically banned the private gun ownership, under the guise of safety.
Then Maduro had the election recently, he lost by a landslide and just ignored the election. People protested and they got shot. They couldn't defend themselves.
That's why you need the second amendment."
With today’s close of Hidden Road (now Ripple Prime), Ripple has announced 5 major acquisitions in ~2 years (GTreasury last week, Rail in August, Standard Custody in 2024, Metaco in 2023). As we continue to build solutions towards enabling an Internet of Value – I’m reminding you all that XRP sits at the center of everything Ripple does. Lock in.
