In a previous life, I was a small part of the large team protecting the WashDC Hilton for these events. What we witnessed last night was a deranged man attempting a heinous act. He was stopped when a meticulously-made, expertly-staffed security plan functioned as designed.
After moments of crisis and trauma, like those witnessed at the White House Correspondents Dinner, feelings of overwhelming stress are normal. We need to care for ourselves and our colleagues. Psychological First Aid is a way to offer colleagues a place to recover and path to resources they may need. For more info visit: https://t.co/GgYxF6chqS #WHCD #DCPress
@EODHappyCaptain Con’t. a convoy always showed up with Army fuelers to keep us rolling, bring us clean water to drink, a Mantech guy, if we really broke the truck; a Cav Scout platoon provided us Grade A security that allowed us to do our job…I mean seriously, even Cav scouts are impotant. 😂.
@EODHappyCaptain 2009: moved to a new AO, Seabees came, pushed up walls & built us a home, Army electricians wired it for power, after a bit, a mobile kitchen trailer w/a few Army cooks fed us,Laundry Specialists arrived to give us clean clothes, a 63B kept wheels on our JERRV….
