“We are not going to let them divide us”
We were inspired by these heartwarming scenes in Middlesborough as the community stood together after riots yesterday.
Communities are SO much stronger than the small, hateful group trying to divide us.
THIS is who we really are.
Just asked a group of teenage boys why they were being so unkind (called my barky lil dog a rat) and they all said SORRY MADAM and shuffled away. Guess I am middle aged now. Brick through a window next boys (jk jk jk)
Proud of former colleagues (and more importantly good friends) who continue to given so much of themselves to fighting this absurdity. The personal toll is real but it's never for nothing.
🚨BREAKING: This Government's cruel Rwanda Bill has just passed
They have shown complete disregard for international law and the UK Supreme Court.
It's nothing short of criminal - so we headed to Parliament to set up the crime scene
Old man Peter fell off a ladder, got stuck in mud and had a suspected broken pelvis(eek!) Emergency services ensue and Dad becomes the man responsible for flagging down a HELICOPTER using Tony's laser light(?!?!) and wrangling farm animals out of field.
As a plant-based person living with sub-optimal light levels (Scotland) I forked out on @drink_AG1 to boost vitamin levels, only to come out in BURNING HIVES. All fine now, but woweee a gorgeous allergic reaction for a Sunday. Internet saying I am not alone with this....
Today the Supreme Court ruled the government must support EU migrants at risk of not being able to meet “most basic needs” (see details in thread below).

Oh myyy, absolutely not having a crisis about my last day in the refugee sector after a decade (!?) of study/volunteering/paid work in this space. A series of cathartic hot takes no one asked for....
Last thing, I find myself providing some very informal careers mentoring to people starting out in this big bad human rights world. Do reach out, I'm so happy to chat, even if you just need to hear IT'S GOING TO BE SO FINE! (enough of my indulgence, sorry and thanks)
Endless solidarity with everyone who continues to keep on keeping on through what feels like the darkest of times. My heart is with my Palestinian friends and colleagues and everyone else who is feeling the heaviness right now.
