I refuse the premise that if our schools teach the foundational book of Western civilization, the best-selling and most important literary work in human history, then we must also teach the deranged, ahistorical desert rantings of a psychopathic pedophile warlord.
Ryan holidays self immolation has a kind of Greek tragedy arc
A man that wishes he was wise and respected, wrote a lot of words to fool many into believing he was
But time reveals character, and his is that of a coward.
-You're not strong, or brave, or anyone worth admiring
The gravy train is over. You are no longer going to be an arm of the federal government, funded by taxpayers who do not agree with your activities.
If you want to do the work of the Lord, you should be able to do it with the church’s money, not the taxpayer’s.
Or here’s a wild thought, instead of spending all your time trying to figure out how you can draw as much public money as possible, why don’t you actually do what you’re supposed to do and go out and try to spread the gospel instead?
Because we all know that when you take Uncle Sam’s funding, you’re no longer allowed to do that. So you are trading your mission for taxpayer cash.
Whitewashed tombs.
I love that we’re the new Rome. Peace with Persia in the afternoon and a gladiator fight in the evening, all on the Emperor’s birthday. Another 1,000 years.
History's first trillionaire is a guy who catches rockets out of the sky with chopsticks and beams internet to every dead zone on the planet.
Same guy ships cars that drive themselves, humanoid robots for the factory floor, brain chips that let paralyzed people move a cursor with pure thought, and an AI running on a supercomputer his team stood up in months instead of years.
And the people crashing out about his net worth are doing it on the app he owns. The same app governments spent years trying to censor.
You cannot legislate a rocket into orbit.
Oh look—a denomination that has decided to follow what Scripture says about pastors. The Bible knows nothing of women pastors. They don’t exist.
If your “pastor” is a woman, she isn’t a pastor. She’s a feminist problem dressed in clerical robes.
What’s worse than the idea of taking care of a 40 year-old when you’re in your 70s is the idea of standing before Jesus Christ after you die and having to atone for the fact that you unrepentantly conducted premeditated murder on one of your God-given children in the name of more free time and fun in your old age.
Everyone who’s sympathetic to the idea of doing such a thing simply doesn’t believe they will meet their maker at the end of their life, so they opt into the hedonistic option of doing what feels good and running from what doesn’t feel good. That’s the core issue at the heart of this whole debate.
