A few years ago I was nominated for WA of the year in the open category. I was then placed in the “Aboriginal category” by the committee as a finalist; even though I wasn’t nominated in that category. They couldn’t get their heads around the idea that an Aboriginal person wanted to compete with all comers. I pulled out of the awards.
@janafavero Donated. And will share widely. You must not be forced to close your doors, you hold a pivotel, fundamental place at the core of our society. Thank you for all you work, and I look forward to decades more of it. #savetheasrc#auspol#refugees#donate
ASRC is more than just a charity. It’s a place where people seeking asylum are welcomed, heard, helped and prioritised. Our independence means we can focus on what refugees tell us they want us to do.
Please chip in what you can to save the ASRC👇🏽

@corriechen@AACTA@AquariusFilmsOz@ProductionAlley@caitlin_yeo Haha, that’s kind - I think it’s the other way around. Sometimes, though, a score with an undefinable magical component is forged, def the case for NGM, and of course it’s all to do with reponse to images, so none of that passenger rubbish - I know Caitlin would agree!
@corriechen@AACTA@AquariusFilmsOz@ProductionAlley Hello Corrie Chen - can't remember if I've told you how much I loved your work on NMG? So many things I loved and admired about it. And @caitlin_yeo's score was very, very special, and particularly deserving (IMOO - in my opinionated opinion) of last year's Aacta award.
Thanks to the brilliant and delightful Partridge String Quartet for premiering my piece ‘Australia Fair?’ at this year’s Port Fairy Spring Music Festival - and big thanks to Monica Curro and Stefan Cassomenos, Artistic Directors of the Festival X https://t.co/VgSMJDEOXZ
