I lived in the UK, watched many an Arkle, Gold Cup, Queen Mother Chase and you'll be hard pushed to present something as good as we saw today.

It's not the Cheltenham Gold Cup or the Aintree Grand National.

But you'll be hard pressed to see a better finish to the final 1000m of any jump race.

After last week's criticism, connections and those at Sandown should take a bow for producing a spectacle for punters today.

Brial Rose made it two wins from three at Wagga on Monday.

That ties into R7 at Echuca today.

Needawinna finished second, just under a length, to Brial two runs back and looks to bring some value outside of the favourite.

All of these horses lost is tragic but Crazy Jet just won yesterday at Saratoga, so to go from that highest of highs to the lowest of lows in less than 24 hours seems especially awful.
