Quite something that around the tenth anniversary of the Brexit campaign murder of Jo Cox he says he is the most attacked politician of the last decade. Well done Sally Nugent for pressing with Qs so many of her colleagues have decided to move on from because he doesnโt want to answer them
@Oates1592@DPJHodges Farage has been a long term supporter of Leaving the EU but that doesnโt mean he made it happen, he couldnโt have and parliament nearly stopped it anyway. It was Cameronโs project to call a referendum.
@Oates1592@DPJHodges He played the pantomime villain over it pretending it was his achievement alone, when it would never have happened without Cummings vote leave campaign making it acceptable to Tories to support it in large numbers which drew the public along with them. Farage is ex UKIP leader.
@DPJHodges You never know, one might even stand against him! Are you telling me no Labour women have the balls to take on Burnham? Come on Labour ladies, step forward for the mayhemโฆ
@Oates1592@DPJHodges Farage had little impact on Brexit, it was the Vote Leave campaign group that made it popular with help from Cummings and Johnson after Cameron had called it. Farage just played flag waving pantomime villain!
@Oates1592@DPJHodges Farage only got elected to the EU Parliament because Tony Blair got elected as PM and changed the EU election voting system in the UK which got Farage elected, but Cameron could have resisted pressure but chose to offer a referendum in 2015.
@Oates1592@DPJHodges So not James Goldsmith of the Referendum Party who laid the foundations or PM David Cameron of the Scottish Independence and EU Referendums or PM Boris Johnson who won a 14m vote mandate to get Brexit Done and got it over the line to a bonging Big Ben or 3 term PM Tony Blair?
@DavidSt92129401@DPJHodges So as well as an MPโs salary, security and expenses he has had a couple of decades of EU salaries and pension deal on top of the ยฃ5m tax-free bung from a Thai based business tycoon which means he does not have to work like others to refine his act or worry about safety.
@DavidSt92129401@DPJHodges Heโs an MP so he gets a certain amount of security as for all MPs. He was never an ex PM like Truss, so he doesnโt qualify for the ex Premier security she gets by rights. Heโs in the same boat as all the other MPs who never became PM. A man in Thailand funded his extras (house?).
@DPJHodges@LindaPears87262 Makerfield have picked their MP in June 2026, Burnham has won a massive majority as would probably happen there in a general election, and now the PLP have decided to have him as the new party leader too causing Keir to resign. The only contest needed is general election in 2029.
@DPJHodges But now we have the task of seeing how Burnham will campaign to win the next election and how long he can hold on to power both before or after that chance arises. And after that, on to the nextโฆ and then on to the nextโฆ thank you, next!
@DPJHodges Thatโs a bizarre comment. Starmer admitted he listened to what the party were telling him about who they wanted to lead them into the next election and that he was not the one. If you are not leading the next election campaign itโs impossible to sustain being PM, regardless of AB
@JuliaHB1 No, youโd think he was already the Labour Party leader, and youโd be right. Authority had already slipped away from Keir everybody screamed, well it had to go somewhere, and Burhamโs lap is where it landed; AFTER Makerfield lent their votes to Burnham the PLP followed, for now!
