We ask God to make us more like Jesus, but sometimes we forget that kind of growth usually happens in the seasons that stretch us the most.

It happens when we choose patience even though we’re frustrated.

Grace when we’ve been hurt.

Forgiveness when holding a grudge feels easier.

Faith when nothing makes sense.

Love when it isn’t returned.

And trust when we cannot see what God is doing.

We pray, “Lord, change my heart and make me more like You,” and then wonder why life suddenly starts testing every part of us.

But maybe that difficult season wasn’t God ignoring your prayer.

Maybe it was part of His answer.

Because while we’re asking Him to change our circumstances, He may be using those very circumstances to strengthen our faith, shape our character, and change us from the inside out.
