[Matt Kennard @kennardmatt]

Trade unions should now disaffiliate from Labour en masse and put their resources behind the new Sultana/Corbyn party

If the general secretaries refuse to do it, members should remove them

The time is now

[Zarah Sultana MP @zarahsultana]

Congratulations to @zarahsultana on finally leaving @UKLabour !

Looking forward to working with both @jeremycorbyn and Zarah on a new Left party.

We need to provide an alternative from the mainstream parties and we finally have a start.

Will you be joining?

Retweet if you would join Jeremy Corbyn’s and Zarah Sultana’s party

This Labour government could have taxed the very wealthiest in our society.

It is disgraceful that they are choosing to go after the poor and disabled instead.

.@garyseconomics speaking to rally outside the Treasury for a wealth tax: “We can win… we need to build this.”

He’s right.

[Sharon Graham @UniteSharon]

It's time for a wealth tax on the super rich and a tax on excess profits.

Those that say a wealth tax is too difficult are mistaken. We seem to be able to get workers to pay tax in a matter of weeks, the system is rigged and the country knows it.

#WealthTax NOW!

[BladeoftheSun @BladeoftheS]

Mick Lynch wants a progressive wealth tax with the richest paying the same as everyone else on PAYE, 47%.

That would bring in hundred of billions, it is time for the richest to pay what everyone else has been paying their whole lives.

[Zarah Sultana MP @zarahsultana]

UK billionaires added £182,000,000,000 to their wealth last year. That’s £35,000,000 every single day.

Their combined wealth is £795,361,000,000.

So don't let anyone tell you austerity is a “necessity”. There’s more than enough wealth to fund our NHS, public services & welfare.

[Jonathan Pie @JonathanPieNews]

Not sure slagging off the Tories is really appropriate now you’re going further than they ever did to cut back on welfare.

[Peter Stefanovic @PeterStefanovi2]

Jeez this is awful. What is this government thinking? Has it gone completely mad?

[Zarah Sultana MP @zarahsultana]

Instead of slashing welfare and disability benefits — forcing more disabled people and children into poverty — the government could introduce a 2% tax on assets over £10 million.

It would raise £24 billion — five times the savings from these cuts.

This is austerity 2.0.

Reeves says UK economic turnaround will take time.

Can't revive economy without improving people's purchasing power.

16m people live in poverty. Profiteering is rife. 1% has more wealth than 70% of population combined.

Needs action now. Tax the rich.

The UK is spending £369m refurbishing Buckingham Palace for King Charles, who has £22bn and gets £500m more a year.

He can pay for his own renovations, £369m is more than England spends on building Social Housing in an entire year for the whole country.

[Harry Eccles @Heccles94]

It's 2024.

We don't need a monarchy.

We certainly don't need a monarchy making money out of our struggling NHS.
