A 26-year-old Colombian man is dead after an encounter with ICE in Maine. Just days earlier, another father of three was killed in Texas.
We visited Senator Susan Collins’ office after standing with the people of Biddeford, where hundreds came together to demand accountability. While communities are calling for safety and dignity, Collins voted to support tens of billions more in funding for ICE.
Our communities deserve care, not terror. No more deaths. No more expanding ICE. Stand with immigrant communities and demand accountability.
AOC on Trump’s Thursday address: I don’t think we should be contributing to the platforming of lies about our elections. Many of these outlets often receive transcripts, and I think we have an ethical obligation not to air things that undermine our elections and are not rooted in fact.
For once, the Senate refused to fast-track a $1.15 trillion Pentagon budget.
After sustained grassroots pressure, senators blocked debate on the 2027 NDAA, demanding the right to vote on amendments to stop funding for an unauthorized war on Iran and challenge deeper U.S.-Israel military integration. People power made this vote possible. Now let’s make sure senators hold the line.
REP. @jamestalarico: “Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was murdered by ICE. He embodied the American Dream. His life was invaluable. His death was senseless. Our neighbor, our fellow Texan, deserves justice.”
Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Greg Casar urging colleagues to vote YES on Massie & Khanna's amendment cutting aid to Israel.
"The American people are crying out for an end to US tax dollars subsidizing Israel's military."
Comes as party leadership announces opposition.
This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days.
ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
Yeah, that’s a crime. Nothing’s going to happen,* but walking up to a vehicle and spraying pepper spray in the air vents is, in fact, not legal. Even if you’re a federal officer.
*There is a small possibility that ICE OPR finds out about this and gives him a slap on the wrist.
A 28-year-old man died Tuesday morning after he was fatally hit by a truck as he was fleeing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations agents in St. Augustine, Florida, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
This marks the third death involving ICE this week, and just one day after the one-year anniversary of the death of Jaime Alanís, an immigrant farmworker who died after falling from a greenhouse roof during an ICE raid of a California cannabis farm.
No details of the man have been released.
Under Trump, Bondi, and Todd Blanche, the Department of Justice failed to redact the personal information of survivors in the Epstein files.
Today, I introduced the REDACT Act with Senator Booker to allow survivors to sue for their right to privacy and receive compensation.
At this point, apartheid may be the least of Palestinians' worries. They face ethnic cleansing, mass killings, deliberate maiming, arbitrary detention, starvation, siege, and the list goes on and on.
Stopping short of "yes" is disgraceful.
Anyone who supported Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker of the House is a complete and utter disgrace. This man has now said he will NOT be supporting the Khanna-Massie Amendment to strip Section 219 from the NDAA, which would marry the U.S. military to that of a genocidal state, Israel.
The NDAA did not pass the U.S. Senate today. We must keep up the pressure and mobilize the House to strip Section 219 entirely from the NDAA. We must not allow the AIPAC plantation—Hakeem Jeffries, Ritchie Torres, Gregory Meeks, and others—to surrender our sovereignty to a foreign government.

BREAKING: A bipartisan Wisconsin panel has concluded that Elon Musk likely violated state election law by offering $1 million payments to voters ahead of last year’s Wisconsin Supreme Court election.
Today, I sued the Heritage Foundation, Stephen Miller, a Columbia affiliate, and others under the KKK Act. I will not stop fighting until everyone who willingly contributed to my missing the birth of my son—and 104 days of my life—answers for it. More actions will come soon.
But this lawsuit is about far more than what was done to me. It is about a coordinated, ongoing plot to punish, silence, and intimidate everyone who dares to dissent and speak out for Palestinian liberation. We will hold them accountable.
Let me be direct: The best way to help me is to spread the word about the threats to democracy and how we can fight back. Tell everyone to subscribe to Democracy Docket and share its content. Thanks. https://t.co/0StGlWz45f
Universal childcare needs to be truly universal. Today, we took a huge step toward this vision with a $67.5 million investment in high-quality Special Education programs — coming to all five boroughs this fall.
For too long, many young children with disabilities had to travel across the city to get the education they deserve. Now, they won't have to.
This is just the beginning. Our administration won't stop until every child has what they need to grow.
