@coachvint how do you get Hudl to export the score at each clip? I think it’s a useful trend when using ai to develop a tendency based on score differential
@jwentworth42@Hudl I’ve gone through a number of issues over the years. I hate to see coaches suffer because of tech support. If I we can speak sometime this weekend, I’m happy to help.
Looking for help with the @hudl sideline app. None of my iPads will allow 2 external cameras. My iPhone had the option for 2 externals. The app says it’s current, from Wednesday evening. If anyone knows of a solution, it be a giant help.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl As a follow up. I reset all our iPads to factory defaults, reloaded them with sideline. 2 weeks no issues. I also forgot to mention keeping the top button clear. Our cases are so tight they can partially depress that button. It will freeze the iPad.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl It seems there’s a disruption every year late in the season, usually wk8 if memory serves me. I know when you click the “remove” video button, the app removes the reference to the video in the apps db, but not from the iPad. This is consistent behavior with a near full OS
@CoachShiffman@Hudl The other cable related issue Ive encountered is cable weight to camera. Until we started supporting the cable, we’d damage the camera hdmi port and the hdmi cable end. Those ends are really sensitive. The cable weight on the EZcamera is significant.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl Ive spent a lot of time identifying the controllable variable Hudl doesn’t mention. Through week 5 it was 100%. Wk6, last week, Hudl released an update for sideline. Lost all the 4th qtr. got it working the final couple of minutes. I’ll post my thoughts in follow up posts
@CoachShiffman@Hudl I’ve spent a great deal of time over 30+ years helping sports teams overcome tech issues. As a kid, coaches played a big role in my life. If I can help coaches reduce their tech time to be more involved in coaching, I’m happy to help, no charge. Call, 313.319.0008 or dm me
@CoachShiffman@Hudl The broadcast unit isn’t line of site but it behaves like it. Any wall, box, or whatever may disrupt the signal. If you disrupt this signal, the whole network can fail.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl I placed the broadcaster thing underneath the pb table, it was a very narrow fit for the two coaches up to maximize their space for papers, iPads, & mints. At halftime I moved it out in the open, seemed to work better. Tapper was outside, maybe too far
@CoachShiffman@Hudl I find best to keep the broadcaster thing and the hdmi converter box on the pb table adjacent to the coaches. It’s really not much room. I’ve replaced the pb extension cord because the plugs fit loosely causing power disruptions.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl Placement of the pressbox network broadcaster thing. I don’t know the name of it. Leaving it in the box can disrupt the signal to the tapper and other iPads on the pb network.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl Also, if you use a lower rated Ethernet cord like cat5 or 5e, which was common till a few years ago, can hamstring the Hudl network at irregular intervals.
@CoachShiffman@Hudl Replace the cat6 Ethernet cords to the different components every couple of years. We wind that up tight. It’s less. Susceptible to kinks and data loss, but it’s still a thing.
