Half of the people can be part right all of the time, some of the people can be all right part of the time, but all the people can't be all right all the time
I did. It was a horrible experience.
Full of factual errors (Jesus being born in Jerusalem, horses in America before the Spanish brought them, etc.), poorly written, hundreds of "and it came to pass" and other statements making it obvious that it is the same writer in each book, tells of a group being cursed with being black, Jesus telling the Nephites he is the "Alpha and Omega" when they would never have known Greek, quoting Latin words from the King James and other Biblical passages (which were the best parts of the reading), describing places and people that do not reflect the archeological and DNA evidence at all...and that's just the highlights and doesn't include the theoligical statements that directly contradict the Bible....
It's an absolute mess.
But lastly...it promises another testament, which demonstrates it to be a different religion than Christianity. If it's just a different denomination, no new scriptures would be needed. You would never become LDS from reading the Bible alone.
“If you think the world is selfish and rotten, go to the cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer overlooking Omaha Beach. See what one group of men did for another on D-Day, June 6th, 1944.” — Andy Rooney
On this day in 1944 Amon Carter presented FDR with the deed to the land that would become Big Bend National Park. Famously FDR had nothing else going on June 6, 1944, which you can tell from his extremely relaxed demeanor
Those who choose abortion for disabled children are effectively betting on no adverse health situations in the future. But every one of us is a single accident, illness, or diagnosis away from a radically altered life.
Physical or mental impairments do not make a life less valuable. They do not diminish the worth of a person after birth, and they should not determine whether someone is allowed to be born in the first place.
Life is fragile, uncertain, and difficult. We do not celebrate life because it is perfect. We celebrate it because human worth is not contingent on health, ability, youth, or circumstance. It is inherent.
Perhaps David Bloom put it best. “When Scott Pelley gets in line at Starbucks and orders coffee, he doesn’t order what he really wants. He orders what he wants people behind him to hear him order.”
I’ve only worked for 3 companies at 3 radio stations in a 29-year run & had 6 great bosses, & only 2 real crappy ones (both of whom I far outlasted, I would humbly tell you), BUT I do know this:
1. If you tell your immediate superior he/she will never be welcomed by you or other staff…
AND,
2. You accuse that boss’s boss of “murdering” the flagship show of the department….
…THEN get a chance to come back the next day & own just a percentage of blame for a heated moment, & refuse!….
You should be fired & will be fired. Every single time. Without exception.
This is what using the Lord's name in vain actually means, by the way. It's not cuss words. It's twisting the Bible to justify your demonic political beliefs and trying to stamp it with God's name.
Yes. Between a guy with personal scandals, and a guy who wants to use the power of government to medically rape your children and force your daughters to share locker rooms with male autogynephilic perverts, this is a no-brainer and Christians shouldn’t apologize for it.
