It’s ridiculous to me that the trillions of dollars we desperately need to fight climate change/poverty are just sitting in illegal off shore accounts of the 1%, and that’s common knowledge post panama papers, and we as a society just continue to let it sit there.
9 years after ‘Contagion’ was released, Steven Soderbergh’s life must feel like a twilight zone episode right now: ‘a movie director finds himself living the plot of his own movie’
It’s just a shame it wasn’t ‘Schizopolis’
Living in a world where during a pandemic people are turning to books, comics, movies, art etc & I can't help but think about how these are consistently the 1st things considered non essential in schools & society yet obviously are some of the most vital during difficult times.
@4everNeverTrump Considering the state of healthcare in the US it would seem there are likely a whole lot of people with undiagnosed medical conditions. A friend of mine died from undiagnosed diabetes in his early 30’s. We don’t talk about this enough.
There is a significant chance we will face a shortage of ventilator machines in the coming weeks.
I wish 50% of the people yelling at the feds for more testing would switch to yelling about this.
We made one plane per hour in WW2. That needs to happen ASAP for ventilators.
You know how everyone rushed to stores at the same time and bought out everything at once instead of staggering their visits?
Now imagine that same thing in hospitals, but instead of toilet paper, it’s ICU beds and ventilators that are out. This is why everything is cancelled.
