Starting a throwaway highlighting my days running 5 companies with my business partners. Intentionally nameless so deal structures etc can be disclosed for educational purposes. #Entrepreneurship#dealstructure#VCfunding#tech
@Railway I applaud your hard-work in this tricky situation. Was able to get 11 Deployments out with my tech team through the night into today. You still have some unrivaled tech capabilities- Godspeed 🙏
If u shipped your last version of tech ask yourself what DB are u using? A lot of Vibe Coders will get hit when tech breaks or are forced to redeploy - lose their data bc of an ephemeral DB instead of volume attached DB w/DAILY Backups on -PostgresSQL MySQL Aurora AWS
@Railway
@jmclarty@Krrsantankonye@Railway what DB were you using? Assuming that it was an ephemeral database. You need to set up a volume attached DB. Something like PostgresSQL , MySQL, Aurora AWS
@mikejulian Saw it first hand for consulting clients when it came to Googles AI ad updates the last year and half. So much spam and fake leads leaking with a whole cover up team. Cost some clients 6 figures in bs charges.
@Liathetrader@JustJake@benhylak customer confidence is so important. If you have people that rely on the app like one guy who has a livestream app that helps Musicians monetize - it was prime hours so he lost over $40K GMV in the few hours it’s down.
@JustJake@SuperheroCrypto Hopefully you have good Biz insurance and good legal guardrails in place with how many users you have that loss amount could be quite large.
@BrunetHugo72301@Railway Just got back into the railway account. Gonna wait a bit so I don’t push my luck - my 2 apps are live and my team and customers can use them. My Db’s are intact and everything functional.
Part 3 we have our code on Github. In case @Railway has another major issue. I am having our Devs implement an Emergency plan for Emergency deployment on @render 1. grab env vars/secrets 2. backup dependencies for auth / stop relying on Railway for this.

Turned to shipping our TechDev faster. Came across @Railway as a solution with Claude Code to build our MVP products with a couple devs separate from main tech stack built on AWS. Today was eye opening with Railway going offline. Lessons below 👇
part 2 -@Railway Should give access to Domain through Cloudfare so if bigger crashes happen you aren’t completely locked out (like I was). DNS and domains should never live on the same platform as your deployment. Railways didn’t email any access info after purchase.
@Railway The last paragraph says the guy that shipped the V3 build was taking PTO Friday after announcing a successful transition. Hopefully the called back to figure out what the hell happened.
