Lately I’ve been exploring the world of generated art first as a collector, but also as a creator.

But I wanted to take a fresh approach by first creating some non-gen art i.e. "by hand" then adapting it with code in a “hybrid” gen-art style.

Coding with agents in multiple simultaneous git worktrees reminds me of multi-tabling online poker back in the day. Even with auto mode there's an upper limit with diminishing returns for optimal simultaneous sessions before efficiency degrades.

1/ On Being An Agent

If you spend time with young people you’ll quickly observe that their heads are buried in their phones even while hanging out with their friends IRL.

Future generations already do prefer it and will do so at an interestingly higher rate especially as the interface for doing so gets better.

Imagine what the 5th generation Apple Vision Pro will look like in a decade. To that point I agree that the timeline is still many years out.

Don't ask why I spent my night doing high school math on paper...

P.S. this estimation to find the area of a polygon with any number of points does NOT seem to be accurate -- please let me know if you know of a better approximation 🙏

@marka_eth People love to complain without offering up solutions. I often tell my team that identifying pain points is great, but what’s even better is to bring proposals how to fix them at the same time.

@beaniemaxi Is it possible to make this work without the ponzi or is that the primary driver for the hype? Could the tech still work with another incentive structure?

It’s easy to argue both sides:

“What utility is there?? We need airdrops or giveaways!”

<giveaways commence>

“Why are they giving away free stuff?? They don’t know what to do with the money!”

Or

“Why don’t they listen to the community?? They just do whatever they want!”

<listens to the community>

“Why are they asking the community what they want?? They have no leadership!”

In reality, good founders should do a little bit of both and they would be foolish to not do so in order to maintain attention during a bear market while building for the future.

Note I’m not commenting either way on this particular project, just in general how this sentiment need not be binary.
