The first part of the Zimbabwe project is drawing to a successful close with construction of the Health Centre in Runyararo nearing completion. Designed to have a long-lasting benefit in the local community these facilities will save lives from the moment they become operational.

In a recent address during the UN General Assembly President Mnangawa noted that not only are the new Health Centres modernising Zimbabwean health infrastructure, but also the training programmes are contributing to “plug gaps” created in the health sector due to brain drain.

Equipment End User Training at Mataga Health Centre took place on 16th and 17th August. A total of 15 trainees attended and were awarded certificates upon successful completion.

(1/3) Following the Presidential Opening of Cowdray Park last week, the facility becomes the second Health Centre to be completed as part of the @MoHCCZim Healthcare Facilities project, with three further sites at varying levels of construction.

(2/3) This is a fully funded programme from the Government of Zimbabwe (@ZimTreasury) who has pledged its continued commitment to improving healthcare access and quality across the country.

(3/3) Commenting on the facility’s impact, HE President Mnangagwa said: “this modern healthcare facility is between the clinic and the major hospitals. It can help the communities around here... We are happy to have state-of-the-art facilities”.

(1/3) On 2nd August 2023, HE President Mnangagwa presided over the ceremonial handover of the NMSI-built Cowdray Park Health Centre at Bulawayo, the second facility to be completed as part of NMSI’s Built to Care Zimbabwe Programme.

(2/3) The facility will bring healthcare closer to the people of Cowdray Park, serving the city’s most populous suburb whilst decongesting the current referral hospitals in Bulawayo.

Mataga Health Centre is nearing completion, with all identified snags being attended to and final clearing progressing. The delivery of medical equipment has begun, with import licenses for other medical and non-medical items currently in process.

NMSI were delighted to attend the 2023 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair which brought together a diverse audience to promote trade and investment. A team from NMSI were in attendance to promote the Zimbabwe Healthcare Project, strengthening awareness of its development & impact.

Mataga Health Centre is nearing completion with equipment installation & training starting in June. Equipped with delivery, prenatal, post-natal, procedure & 3 consultation rooms, a paediatric ward & an imaging store, this facility is predicted to benefit more than 61,614 locals.

On 28th April, teams in Harare, Mataga and Runyararo celebrated World Safety Day, with a host of presentations delivered on the importance of PPE, construction legislation and site layout.

At the end of the day, workers took part in a safety quiz, with awards given to winners.

Great visit to a hospital the UK's NMS is building in Bulawayo, before going to ZITF. Work on the Cowdray Park facility started in 2022, one of 35 hospitals & clinics being expertly built here by NMS. Proud of this shared investment in providing better healthcare to Zimbabweans.

The Zimbabwean MoF conducted a Due Diligence visit to the NMSI Zambia Programme early this year, in anticipation of the delivery of District Hospitals in Zimbabwe. Touring NMSI’s offices, Mini Hospitals in Lusaka, the District Hospital in Mfuwe and a Light Steel Frame factory.

On 2nd March, a team of 8 local community members were employed for site clearance at Cowdray Park Health Centre. Impressed by quality of the finishings, including the secure fencing, all are eagerly looking forward to the Health Centre opening.
