"France remembers that no lasting political solution can be imposed from abroad and that sovereign peoples are the only ones who decide their future" - French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, January 3, 2026
209 Republicans and 6 Democrats just voted to integrate our military with Israel’s military and you can hear them clapping in the background.
These criminals are proud of their treason.
Today is the day the United States of America died and the United States of Israel was born.
Washington’s Cuba report: a hundred pages of McCarthyite madness
The US State Department has published a hundred-page report grandly titled “Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism”. It’s worth reading, not for anything it reveals about Cuba, but for understanding the pathology of the Trump regime.
The report’s thesis is that for nearly seven decades a small, blockaded island of eleven million people has secretly been running the US left.
By its account, the Weather Underground, the Black Panthers and Assata Shakur run in a single unbroken line down to Black Lives Matter, the George Floyd uprising, “Antifa”, the movement against ICE, the campus protests against the genocide in Gaza, and a roll-call of named organisations – the National Lawyers Guild, Code Pink, the DSA, the Cuba-solidarity networks – all recast as fronts and “fifth columns” for Havana. It then rounds the picture off by casting Cuba as a “concierge service” splicing Russia, China and Iran into the hemisphere.
Everyone who has ever marched for Black lives, against war, or in defence of migrants is recast not as a human being with a conscience but as an agent of a foreign power.
This is a return to the height of McCarthyite madness, and its purpose is plain: by declaring all domestic dissent to be foreign subversion, the Trump regime is preparing to criminalise it.
That is the report’s function at home. Abroad, it is a pretext for regime change. It should be read alongside what Washington is actually doing: Cuba dragged back onto the “state sponsors of terrorism” list; a genocidal fuel blockade that UN human rights experts have condemned as the collective punishment of an entire people; the US Navy carrying out extrajudicial killings across the Caribbean and Pacific; a president who calls Cuba “a failed country” and says openly that he expects its government “gone by the end of the year”.
To accuse Cuba of terrorism against the US is to engage in shameless hypocrisy and projection. The terrorism has only ever run in one direction. It was the CIA that ran Operation Mongoose, an entire programme of sabotage against the island; that hatched plot after plot to murder Fidel Castro; and that trained and sheltered the men who bombed Cubana Flight 455 out of the sky off Barbados in 1976 – Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch – killing all seventy-three people on board, among them Cuba’s young national fencing team. The same networks bombed Havana’s hotels in 1997.
The blockade – now in its 64th year – was designed precisely by the State Department “to bring about hunger, desperation and overthrow of government”. Six decades have followed that memo faithfully, at a cost to Cuba of more than $160 billion – some two trillion dollars in today’s money. For 33 years running the UN General Assembly has voted to end it; last October the tally was 165 to 7, the seven being the United States, Israel and a handful of client states. That is the real map of who stands where.
Cuba’s real crime, in the eyes of this report’s authors, is that of being the threat of a good example. This “failed state” holds a life expectancy higher than the US; a literacy rate above 99 percent; and a medical system that sends more doctors abroad than the WHO, UNICEF and Médecins Sans Frontières combined – the “army of white coats” that has restored sight to millions and staffs the clinics no empire ever would. That example – a poor island under permanent siege that prioritises people over profit, and that sends doctors where empires send gunboats – is what Washington finds intolerable.
What Marco Rubio and his associates want for Cuba is the dismantling of the socialist system and its replacement with an Epstein regime – a Mafia casino and a brothel for foreign capital, a colony in all but name.
It is urgent that people of conscience everywhere stand against repression and regime change, and for the right of the Cuban people to preserve their sovereignty and continue developing their own socialism.
Dear friends, I am sharing this significant step forward from the first International Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels in Santa Marta.
The official Co-Hosts’ Outcome Report, released by the Governments of Colombia and the Netherlands, is the most comprehensive multilateral document yet on transitioning away from fossil fuels. It reflects what we have seen on the ground, a growing international support that moves the discussion from why we must phase out fossil fuels to how we do so in a fast, fair and funded way.
The next steps is now clear. This momentum must be translated into stronger international cooperation and a @fossiltreaty

A months-long Sky News investigation into the US double-tap strike on a Minab girls' school found the Pentagon had tracked the site by satellite since 1987 and could still count children's shadows in the courtyard before firing anyway.
What the evidence shows:
Three Tomahawk missiles fired from the USS Spruance, 716 kilometers away in the Arabian Sea, hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab on Feb 28, the opening day of the US-Israeli war on Iran. Witnesses described a second strike hitting the exact spot where a teacher had moved surviving students for shelter, killing nearly everyone who had taken cover there. A third strike followed on the same site. Death tolls range from 156 to over 170, most of them girls aged seven to twelve. The school had been walled off from the adjacent IRGC naval base since at least 2015, had its own website, and was geolocatable through open-source materials any analyst could have pulled in minutes.
Built to fail:
The Pentagon's own machinery for preventing exactly this outcome had already been dismantled. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth slashed the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence workforce by roughly 90 percent and cut CENTCOM's civilian casualty assessment team from ten people to one, months before the war started. A May Pentagon Inspector General report found the office had become a shell on paper with no budget, no mandate, no real mission. A functioning warning system was defunded on purpose, then blamed for not warning anyone.
Accountability buried:
Four months on, CENTCOM's commander told reporters the investigation was near complete, yet nothing has been released. Asked in June whether anyone would face consequences, Trump called it a strange question, adding that mistakes are made and war is nasty. The mistake was choosing not to fund the office that exists to catch mistakes like this one.
My take: A military that surveilled a schoolyard for four decades didn't fail to see the children, it decided in advance that seeing them wouldn't change the targeting. Nobody in this chain lacked information.
it really is amazing how lowlife degenerate Bernie Sanders refuses to remove "Israel has the right to defend itself like any other country" from any time he talks about the ongoing genocide, as he did again yesterday. He will never stop laundering his precious Israeli death and rape-cult as having the right to occupy, steal, genocide and mass murder Palestinians and cast any resistance to it as "unprovoked terrorism".
That’s the truth.
The Power Elites are the enemies of working class people.
The US🇺🇸 Constitution combined with the DNC GOP duopoly are an extreme wealth protection system for Oligarchs.
Legalized political bribery is a feature and not a defect.
The Power Elites have used neoliberal economic policies to cut their taxes while simultaneously using tax avoidance schemes to evade paying their share of taxes.
Structural elements of the US Constitution—such as the Electoral College, equal Senate representation, and First Amendment protections for political spending—empower a wealthy minority. Combined with ballot access laws, this framework cements the DNC-GOP duopoly, restricting viable third-party competition and ensuring policy favors corporate and oligarchic interests.

📝 We need to encourage journalistic integrity especially as the war escalates—we cannot forget about the Minab school bombing in Iran!

This is a great piece by two ex-White House ethics lawyers, one Republican and one Democrat. It should alarm every American.
Trump and his family are profiting from the very industries he regulates.
Nearly a million everyday investors lost a combined $3.8 billion on his meme coin while Trump pocketed $636 million.
Then there is all the foreign money. The founders wrote the emoluments clause into our Constitution to stop exactly this. Foreign cash flowing to a sitting president was their nightmare, and we are living it.
Congress has the power to end this. We can ban officials from trading stocks and holding assets that overlap with their duties. We can investigate who paid, who benefited, and whether policy was bought.
Trump’s allies stay quiet because they fear his money and his threats. But we must fight back. Either we will end the corruption, or the corruption will be the end of us.

On September 11, 1973 US-backed General Pinochet overthrew and killed the democratically elected leader of Chile, Marxist President Salvador Allende. Pinochet ordered an air strike on the Presidential Palace. Allende and his team resisted inside the palace till the last moment, Allende never negotiated a surrender. Allende died inside the palace with the gun given to him by Fidel Castro. Pinochet would go on to detain and toruture countless Chileans, executing 40,000 of those who opposed the U.S.-backed dictatorship.
